Root How to S-OFF w/o Easy S-Off Tool?

IIRC, the phone is/was your sister's? When did she actually get it? I got mine in March last year and that shipped with Froyo.

Didn't know that Jkoljo had pulled his tool... not sure about how to achieve ENG S-Off without... perhaps someone else could give some advice! :)

I got a refurbished/replacement one in around November/December...
 
I would have assumed that, if it was a refurb, it would have originally shipped with Froyo (but couldn't tell you for sure).

I think that, where it says do not use on your phone if it shipped with GB, he is meaning that it wouldn't work on a phone that came (from factory) with GB on but, if you were already rooted and running a custom ROM, I don't think it would matter.

Grey area... would have to check with the author of the tool... if not, it would be distributing his work without his consent.

When I've been on XDA, it looks like his post was edited by someone else though... it may come back (will keep my eye on it and let you know if I see it back :))

Sorry.. but what does it matter? I would understand if the tool wsa still live.. or it we had to pay for its use....

El Presidente asked the guy who wrote the AAHK (when that was pulled at one point) if he could pass it on (if needed) and I don't think he was happy with it, which is why I said I thought it was a bit of a grey area.

If I get the tool from my PC, onto my laptop... would that work?
 
I may have to put myself through the pain of using my PC then ;)



EDIT: Copied it to my laptop. About to run it .



EDIT: DO i just open it with my phone plugged in with charge only, click I have Radio S Off and wait?
