I hear all these negative about the size of the drive being 8gb and even with a 32gb SD it does not work well as it does not read movies place into the microSD card. Anyone knows how to get it working. Even trhough it is cheap I would prefer getting the iPad 3 than messing with this all the time just to get it working with 720p or 1080i movies.

i don't know where you are getting your info from.. but i can play 1080's and 720's on my tab.. i haven't had a problem playing any movie..i use mobo player to play all formats, and i use a 32 gig sd card to keep all of my movies on.The only complaint i have is the lack of apps2sd.. but hopefully an update will fix this.

Other than no app to sd though my gps app works with map storage to the sd card. Not sure where you are getting your false info

you can only format FAT32 on the sdcard. Many 1080p movie files will exceed the 4GB file size limitation of FAT32. All of my blue-ray rips are in the 6 to 8GB range so they wont play on the Tab2.

His comments are valid.

I've had zero issues with my tab. It plays all movies I throw at it with the stock "video player". Music plays great and sounds good. Battery life is amazing. It lasts all week with moderate use. I love my tab.

Why don't you go and get the ipad you will see very soon you are lock into apple

read the post again from BLACK GRAVITY,BOO BOO AND BACKDOC77

THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT! For me I am new to

GAKAXLY TAB and I love it I just can't put it down.

Bob:)

I would get the iPad if I were you. My mother loves hers.

I have not tried any music or video on my tablet yet.
I do not think you need a rip of 6 or 8 megs for a movie to look good on such a small screen.

Just rooted it 2 days ago since I started to put some games on that chewed up the storage space in no time. Now that I'm rooted you can use programs like LinktoSD and GL to SD to free up space. Have a few big game on and have lots of space left over.

I have them all stored on the SD card and it works great! Movies can be ripped to smaller files (it is a smaller screen after all). Most of my movies are mp4s and take up about 1gb per hour length.

I copied my music direct to the sd card from itunes.

I copied my books, Audible books, and photos to the sd card as well.

I use the built in movie player, and have had no issues.

i have an acer A100 since last black friday. it bricked about a month ago after installing ics. I sent it to acer and decided to try another tablet while i waited for mine to return. I tried the blackberry playbook, what a dud...u have to pay for nearly all the apps (they wanted u to pay for angry birds!) returned it and got the galaxy tab...
man this thing is awesome. its lighter and faster than the a100, it plays any video file i drop into it (i used mx player) the browser is faster than the acer...i use opera instead of the stock browser...my a100 is on its way back and i think im giving it to my wife!

So, I'll weigh in, since we have PCs, Macs, iPads, Touches, Nooks, and most recently, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" in our house...

Each has its strengths and weaknesses, so it's hard to say which is best for any particular user without really understanding their priorities.

Having said this ... I absolutely LOVE my Tab with 8g and a roomy SD card. No problems with space at all. The apps available are outstanding and the performance and form factor of the Tab is first class. This will get LOTS of use for a long while before the "next better thing" comes along :-)
