Verizon Razr Maxx Price Drop

I was at the Costco yesterday and he had no idea there was a price drop. Costco does their own thing. They don't price match and if they do end up dropping the price, it will most likely be when the next phone has arrived at Big Red.

Yeah, until I told him this guy didn't know about it either. They are usually at the same price as Verizon. When I bought my Droid X they were equal.

Right now its selling for $289.00 with an accessory pack. That is not equal to what Verizon was selling it for and until something new comes out, they will keep it at that price point. I wish Moto would go ahead and announce the next phone though.

I actually picked up 2 RAZR MAXX's friday online for $99 ea plus activation. Not sure how we got them like that it shows a $50 NE2 on one ($149) and nothing on the other ($199) but when I got to the checkout it said $100 Special Discount on both and viola! $99 each. Printed that out and took it to the Verizon store and they told me there was no way that was a real quote from their site so I went home and ordered them online.

I had seen this Droid Razr Maxx Now Only $199 from Verizon Wireless | TalkAndroid.com claiming the upgrade price would be $169 + 30 upgrade but that's apparently not the case according to the VZW rep I spoke to.

I bought my Razr Maxx last Thursday online at Amazon for the $199 price. The quoted $169 price was only available to new customers. When you clicked on existing customer, the price automatically switched to $199. I did get free, 2-business day shipping, and no sales tax. Three Verizon agents told me that I should contact Customer Service BEFORE activating to roll my current "grandfathered" unlimited data plan. This roll-over will end at my next upgrade and is (hopefully) not affected by Verizon's announcement last week that they were eliminating the unlimited data plan. We'll see in the morning!

I don't think that anyone knows how long the price will be at $199, but I think it's a safe bet that it won't ever go back up at all.

On another note, how are people getting $50 discounts on the Razr Maxx? My NE2 is only $30. Am I missing something?

I just wish Costco would match the price already. I want the extras they offer and it's not worth the $90 difference.

Same here, went there yesterday to upgrade my wifes Incredible (orig) and they quoted me $289 for it. They said they have new prices on the 23rd (today), I haven't had time to call them yet to see if they have it for $199.

I just called and asked again. I was told to check again in the coming days around the holiday. I'm not holding my breath...

I just called the Costco in Middleton, WI and they said no price change so far and they have no idea when it'll be, but that price changes usually occur on Thursdays.

I was at Best Buy in Roseville, CA today and they still have the Maxx at $299 and the two sales reps had not heard about the price drop. I told them I got my Razr Maxx at Amazon last Thursday for $199 with no tax and no shipping fee.

As for liking it... After charging it fully (as recommended), I activated it yesterday and did a lot of set-up and online usage. I wanted to see how long the initial charge would last. Well, tonight I finally hit the 20% "low battery" threshold warning and I had it on for 20 hours and 20 minutes. It is now back on the charger. :)

I called my local Costco and they do not have it in stock. It's only available for shipping. I would call your local store first before wasting your time going out there. Might as well order online if they don't have it there.

I pulled the trigger and placed my order from Costco online Saturday afternoon. I don't get why they charge $20 more for an upgrade separate from Verizon's $30 upgrade fee. They claim that Verizon sets the pricing yet I don't think that's the price if you buy direct. Besides, over the weekend I noticed they added an offer for a $40 credit on your bill. Good thing I ordered as I see it's sold out today.

I called VZW asking about the $30 upgrade fee and the rep was authorized to offer me a free $40 windshield dock or an Otterbox case for $20 ($50 value). I opted for the higher discounted item and took the dock.

The main concern I had was that Costco required me to select a different data plan when I'm currently grandfathered under the unlimited data plan. He just told me to call them when I get my phone so they can activate it with the correct code.

Got it from Amazon Wireless for $199. Actually, they exchange my LG Spectrum after I had it for two weeks with no questions asked. The shipping was super fast! I used the two day free shipping and got it in one business day! I asked them about honoring Fry's price of $99, but Fry's is not on their approved online retailers for them to match the price. To me, the phone is worth the $199. The battery is insane and the build is amazing.

Mike20878; enjoy it, I know you will!

I went to the Verizon store fully expecting to pay $199 for this phone but their computer said I was to get it free. Everyone who worked in the store was shocked but something about my upgrade from 3G to 4G was to be free. I just bought a nice case and had to pay the activation fee. Walked out only spending $56 bucks.
:D

Just picked up a Maxx three days ago for $124. $199 - $50 upgrade coupon - $25 Verizon coupon. Got the 4GB for $30 data plan. So far I'm very happy with the phone.

Just bought mine today for $129.99. It started at $199.99 with my discounted upgrade price, came down $100.00 with what the representative called a $100 discount for all DROIDS, and then the BS $30 upgrade fee. Made me very excited. It didn't show up until I went the whole way to the review my order so if you're looking to see it show up just add it to your cart and go through the checking out process. If you get to entering your credit card information without seeing the discount, you've gone too far.

I also asked if they would do this same discount in the stores because I wanted to just pick it up tomorrow (I get excited for new phones) and was told no. I suppose I can be patient.

Look forward to talking with all of you when it gets here, and I get to play with it.
