Mine freezes every now and then on my laptop, not literally but everything on the screen freezes including mouse and I have to hold power button, I only have 9 Gigs free on my windows drive, I need to move some from my ubuntu drive over....2 partitions 1 HDD

that sounds more like a graphics card/ processor problem than HDD problem... I have 1.45gb free on my 120gb HDD and it's fine...

Due to certain circumstances, that HDD did not have one.

I got a laptop recently ...opened it only a handful of times ...I love my desktop...

If I got a desktop now, my laptop would be for on the road only kind of stuff...

The HDD light doesn't light up when it freezes, but it only freezes when I'm doing A LOT tons of GC tabs usually cause it along with a couple other programs...

I would run a short dst then long dst...
then dump 0s across the drive...

My friend does...he goes beyond that...he buys broken hdds by 100s ...gets them dirt cheap and 1 in 5 hdd works....
