Help hotspot

Hi this doesn't really pertain to the one S, but since that's what I currently have, i thought i'd address this forum. I was using a nexus one before with cmod 7.1, and I had a hotspot feature that was free. It was a feature of the mod. I'd still like to use this but ever since i switched my tmo account over to the one s, the hotspot feature doesn't work. I can receive the signal "AndroidAP" on my laptop and it says I'm connected, but i can't online. Does this have anything to do with the fact that my N1 is not tied to my tmo account anymore?

sorry if that was long winded. any knowledge would be appreciated.

Most carriers are locking down hotspot and teathering apps / use on their network devices. They want you to apy a premium data service each month for the feature. I know for a fact Sprint wants you to paymore for teathering capabilities.

Check out FoxFi, do a google search for it and check out the developers website, it might work for your device.

Or you could check out the All Things Root Forum and see whats available to rooted users. Sprint users that are rooted have access to teathering without the "Premium" data package add on. ;)
