Root Is this for real? ICS for Spectrum!

I don't think it was released for OTA, but it was still pushed to anyone using the LG flash tool, so that's 'released' IMO. Small oversight on their part, but I can't see how something like that would make it past testing.

someone who works for samsung is sabotaging LG! it's a conspiracy!

zv5 was never released. The only way we got it was by neph pulling the bin file off of the server then manually applied.

As for the rest, I have also been around Android for a long time, as in when it was first released to Verizon. I have had HTC, Samsung, and LG. I have never liked Motorola, but that is just my personal preference. I have had a total of 8 Android phones and right now in my family, I have 4 Android phones running. A LG Revolution, a LG Spectrum, a HTC Rezound, and a Pantech Breakout. The buggiest of the 4 is the HTC. Guess what, they all reboot from time to time, they all freeze from time to time, it is part of the game. LG does not over bloat the phone Verizon does. Download a rom for the HTC Rezound, then download Broken Out. Tell me which one has more bloat from the manufacturer. LG and Verizon are in the business to make money. How do they make money, off of our bills, and by bloat. It's not any different than cable. I pay my cable Bill, but guess what, I still get stuck watching commercials. So just as I work to get rid of the bloat here, I work to get rid of the bloat on my TV shows by using dvr and the fast forward button. All I am saying is the grass is not always greener on the other side.

so i got this working and could only get 3g .... so i reflashed tot file for zv4 stock.... flashed brokenout 3.0 with full wipe and still am getting only 3g... not only that but i cant register my google account and i have pretty much no functionality except for phone calls.... wtf did i do and has anyone seen this issue that has flashed ICS ??? Possible, yes. I too only get 3g and it drops in and out, on mine I also can not make phone calls. I get an emergency calls only error. Now did you use the zv4 tot or cab?

As I posted at xda, this update zero'ed my IMEI. Can not restore, used the tot and back to v4 stock, nothing, replacement incoming.

Tried QPST, ect, tried to manually write, did not make it very far.

Mt- I know they all freeze and do random reboots... My wife's X does it more now that apps are more complex for her old phone to handle.

But this phone should NEVER reboot because it's overloaded from an app, but it does... A lot. I can forgive the random reboots since they're rare, but the rebooting because I try to open Boat Browser? Unacceptable. Judging by the logcats, it looks like the phone tries to debug and gives up, which I suppose is better than freezing to require a battery pull, but the fact that it's overloaded annoys me.

load QPST Configuration first (had phone in debug) and select ports, mine was 15/18. From there you can start service programing for the Start Client pulldown.

Also, I use that in the background while I connect with QXDM, this is were I tried to change the IMEI in the NAS tab with zero luck. LGNPST still reads the ESN, but no use with that.

I talked to a guy at verizon today and asked when he thought the OTA release of ICS would be and he said that the Spectrum may not get the ota due to some problems that they were having with the build.

I bet the only problem is that they can't get OUR dev's to spill the beans about the exploit so they can patch it.

Last time I spoke with a VZW tech, I asked him if my name is still on the list to be a beta tester... He laughed for about 8 seconds and finally said "you really didn't know that you you already are".

Of course I know I am, I just wanted to hear him admit it.

With the global unlock of ICS, I think there might be something with the SIM card that might need to be updated.

My LG Fathom got its IMEI washed when I tried to mess with flashing it.
Stuff happens...

For those having radio issues, I believe I have a fix as I have rock solid 3g again on my phone, but still working on getting 4G to work again. I will update this soon with a public fix hopefully.

Edit : While I can see 3g, my phone is still having issues staying connected to it now. 4G is no go what so ever. I really hope the release ICS soon and with a proper radio.

Getting 1x in and out, no 3G of course, as I have no IMEI and phone is unrecognized for said reason.

Nice nice, my fix should be in the mail tomorrow.

Hell, I even copied the block to see if I could insert the IMEI, but have to clue were to drop it and searching for a string of 0 isn't very easy... well it is... but.. yea.

When you get the fix, I'm gona bet you NV backup as soon as you activate.

Your damn right... First hand knowledge of what a small missed backup step will do. I should of well known better with all the backing I've done to BREW systems at times.

Maybe even a backup before AND after, just for experimenting.

Most definitely, as I dive deeper into messing with the phone and this OS itself, it seems and is much much more complicated than before, makes me just want to mess with it more, but relying on the one phone I'm tinkering with doesn't make that part too easy.

Is there a chance that when the new phone arrives, backup the NV as it is blank and feed it to the unit with the case of amnesia.
Then test it and maybe loose it on the way to the FedEx drop.
On second thought just play by the rules, it makes me feel better.

I had an issue with my LG Fathom and the peekaboo IMEI. So now I make it think it's HTC 6800. OOPS..

The backing up and testing part for sure (pre and post active) when I get a bit more knowledge on how to do it right within the 5/14? day window. Wouldn't want two of the same phones running around now. As for dropping it on the way to fedex, if I didn't have 2 phones at once and wouldn't be charged retail for one, possible, as for later with one phone if that happens, well, who knows. The world is full of mishaps.

Okay so i can get qpst to recognize the port but for some reason i can not get this thing to access the phone or connect to it in any way shape or form... all i get is connection error unspecified reason.... if you can you should hit me and let me know how you got it to read.... if so i feel confident i can get the IMEI back to what it should be ...

Sounds as if though ICS is progressing nicely, GB is old hash and ICS is about to be dethroned with Jelly Bean soon.
Spec has ICS before June though thanks to sextape.
