Root [Boost Mobile] How do I remove SuperUser from my Warp?

Bren S.

Android Expert
I have a ZTE Warp that I need to return the manufacturer because it has issues. Speaker crackling, turning itself off, freezing, and sometimes not powering on.

I did 1 click root from here. Have done a factory reset and all that went fine but the SuperUser is still on the phone...obviously I need to get that off before sending the phone in or they'll never fix it.

So how do I remove SuperUser?

TIA

you can try this

http://androidforums.com/warp-all-things-root/490927-root-recovery-ultimate-warp-drive.html

and do the return to stock

Yes that's me. lol

Do I only need to download the 1 file to return to stock...not download the 1 click root file and then put the return to stock file in it?

Grrr I am kind of regretting rooting now. lol

make sure your phone has USB debugging turned on

you want to download the ultimate warp drive.rar

unzip that to a folder

and then download the stock_b08c_rom-signed.zip and put it the same folder, but do not unzip the stock_b08c_rom-signed.zip

double click the - RUN ME - root + cwm + patch + stock.bat

you have to install Clock Work Mod first

then you can do the return to stock

that is the basics, give it a try and let me if you get stuck

i just tested snakes script again and this time it worked

so I removed my last 3 posts

after you get returned to stock, you should remove or erase your sd card before you send it to ZTE

I am going back to bed now, but will be back tomorrow if you need more help

I have tried this numerous times...and I get error:device not found

I have usb debugging and unknown sources both checked

I downloaded and opened ultimate warp drive

Downloaded but did not unzip the b08c rom and dropped it into the ultimate warp drive folder

connected my Warp via usb and clicked RUN ME ... chose the option to install clockwork ...it says its been installed ... it clearly boots into clockwork mode...before I click to go back to stock..click that and it says error device not found.

I have been at this for hours and it's not working.

sigh...I'm done for now

I included the original update tool in my package so use that

Just make sure you don't have CWM installed so you can get to FTM mode

now that you have clock work mod installed

boot into it by holding volume up and the power button, do this while the phone is in a powered off state

once you get into CWM

navigate by using the vol up and vol down keys
use the camera button as a select button

from the main menu of CWM

highlight mounts and storage
and select

highlight mount the USB storage
and select

plug phone into computer USB port

you should get a new drive on the computer like F: drive or something

now on your computer go to this thread and download the ZW-RTS-FOR-CWM-19-0B08C.zip

http://androidforums.com/warp-all-things-root/521024-return-stock-cwm-updated-4-11-a.html

copy the ZW-RTS-FOR-CWM-19-0B08C.zip to the new F: drive (or what ever the new drive is)

once it is done copying

in CWM press the back button (bottom arrow button) until your at the main menu of CWM

highlight install zip from sdcard
and select

highlight choose zip from sdcard
and select

highlight the ZW-RTS-FOR-CWM-19-0B08C.zip
and select

highlight yes install ZW-RTS-FOR-CWM-19-0B08C.zip
and select

it should now install the ROM, it will also remove CWM (after reboot)

press back button until you are at the main menu of CWM

highlight reboot system now
and select

the system should boot up now, and it will be a fresh install, just like when you first got the phone

remove your sd card before sending to ZTE, you have to remove the battery cover and battery to do that

When I boot into clockwork mod it gives me these options:

reboot system now
apply update from sdcard
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

nowhere does it say mounts and storage

???

that is not Clock Work Mod that is Stock Recovery

if you have Stock Recovery you do not have Clock Work Mod

since you have Stock Recovery try this

hold the vol down and power button from a powered off state

it should boot you into FTM Mode

Once you are in FTM Mode hook the phone up to the computer and run the files thats says

"use this to COMPLETELY return to stock (update tool).exe"

it is inside the folder you downloaded last night

This is the ZTE Online Upgrade Tool and it will download the stock ROM files and flash your phone back to stock

It is a pretty simple wizard to follow, if you get stuck, let me know

your welcome

remember to remove or erase your sd-card

because if there are files on it like super user or the ROM stuff that may have been copied to it in the last 2 days, they are gonna say that you have been tampering with the phone

yep I just totally erased the card...and double checked to make sure it's erased. Not only for what they might of found on there that would have them saying I messed with my phone but other stuff as well. lol

Now I hope they fix this thing I sure do miss it. :( Had to go back to my Prevail when this thing flaked.

p.s. thank you for the compliment on my pic :)

Ok now off to find contact info for ZTE :)

Thanks again :)

I think all is well now and root is gone. :) But ty for offering.

p.s. what is teamviewer?

Awww ty for the compliment :) Not sure where the girls like me are in New York, but if there aren't any then maybe broaden the area you look in to include other states? Not everyone's thing I realize but I don't limit myself geographically. :)

teamviewer is an app to remotely connect to another users PC. Similar to GoToMeeting which i use for my business but they don't like me using it for phone modification.

Off topic:

My avatar is me, super cuddly and awesome ;D

On Topic: So I was thinking...if you uninstalled SuperUser and removed the folders from the SD Card...wouldn't that work, too? I've done that before on older phones and it worked...
