are they stored on the phone itself or synced from google contacts?

if stored on the phone, you can probably navigate to their location with a computer, or use a file explorer to remove them.

if they are synced with google, go to settings>accounts and sync>choose your account>and uncheck contacts.

if you wan to delete some, but not all, then it is a little more difficult, and would probably be easier on a computer (either through a file explorer, or through google contacts web site)

and why exactly are you trying to delete them ALL?

If you're wiping contacts so you can sell the phone, what you absolutely need to do instead is a factory reset. Just wiping the contacts still leaves your account tied to it and vulnerable.
