Just wanted to share my experience with my purchase yesterday. I could not find one at any store in my area until I noticed the Radio Shack website said there was one in Van Nuys, CA. I called and had them place it on hold. They had two of them. By the time I arrived they only had 1 left (the one I asked to hold). I purchased the phone and them activate it with a new number. I'm on the $55 a month plan and it only took about 15 min to get it activated with no problems. 4g works great, text messages, everything else the whole works. The phone looks brand new. It is sprint branded on the front and has only the HTC logo on the back (no virgin mobile logo). It has Hboot 1.57. I successfully rooted the phone using this guide:

I got rid of some the factory apps (facebook, etc). I also have wifi tether working for free! See this thread:

I'm coming from an HTC Evo 4g that was flashed to boost. Loved that phone but this phone is much faster and I love the 4g in my area. Good luck to all you guys out there trying to find this phone! It is definitely worth it!
