Help Can't change default image viewer

I installed Autocad WS on my Galaxy S2. When trying to open a DWG file (the Autocad default format), it asked if I wanted to open it as an image or video or a couple other file types. Not knowing what to enter, I selected "image." It then asked if I wanted to make Autocad WS the default program. I thought it was asking if I wanted to make it the default for DWG files, but it was actually asking about image files generally. Now I am unable to change the default image viewer application. Every time I try to open an image file, Autocad WS launches and is unable to open it. I have tried all the standard ways of disassociating this program with image files, but with no luck. The 'clear associations' button for thos program in the Applications Manager is greyed out and I have not had any success with the apps designed to remove/set associations. Does anyone know of there's anything else to try. I have tried uninstalling Autocad WS, but then when I try to open an image file, nothing happens at all.

You need to change the default file association, follow these steps:

1) From the home screen: Menu -> Settings
2) Applications -> Manage Applications
3) Select the All tab and scroll down to Gallery
4) Select Gallery
5) Scroll down and choose Clear Defaults

This will clear AutoCAD from the default.

That should do it for you. With regards to DWG files, I am not sure how to associate them. You should ask for support from the developer.

Thanks for the reply Xerses. I discovered that ES File Explorer keeps its own stored file type default application list that I had to clear from within ES File Explorer itself.

Glad that you found the problem. I suppose I could have directed you to the right place, but you had not indicated that you were using ES File Explorer.

Kamloopsmike, how did you clear the default from ES explorer. I'm having the same problem. I went to the Android manage applications and looked under the default tab for ES explorer and it said " no defaults set" . And yet when I open an image, it fails to give me an option to chose my image viewer and instead insists on using its own very limited viewer.

You open ES File Explorer, click on the Menu button, Settings, scroll down and select Clear defaults.
