Root Phone eats battery

Ok so I noticed this on sunday...Ill charge my phone completely but give it like 4 hrs and it dies. This has never happened before and it tends to get a little warm...its jus been acting weird. When I have the screen off its gets warm like 111, I play a lil music and the temp is like 98 but when it sits on the charger to charge it sits at like 86. Any ideas on what could be wrong...maybe an app in the background all of a sudden havin a freak out issue

Are you using anything that will shut off 4g when you aren't using it?

Also are you rooted? If so are you overclocking? That tends to heat up the phone also.

Sent from my LG-MS910 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-6

he's running a homeless kernel with rom#2 if the under the photo device(s); is correct.
go to settings, battery use, then click on system and see whats running
one thing i have noticed is the camera seems to be there, even with a refresh.....

if you've made a back up, you can uninstall any new apps you've downloaded, completely wipe everything, and restore. start reading the apps you download, especially the permissions, to find the drainer. its usually the one that accesses network at will without your knowledge.

make sure u disable your maps that's always running in the background,to disable your maps if you have ROM tool box go to auto start manager find maps tap on it and it will disable your maps, that would keep it from running in your background. Also u can freeze DRM with TB,there's two DRM's just freeze both of them;)

If i can figure out how to show you guys a screenshot then I would, I reset everything, even got myself stuck in a cwm bootloop but thanks to firenemesis I got myself out of it. I restored everything and even decided to run a different rom and its still doin it. I dont have 4g enabled cause my phone is currently off at the moment.

use photo bucket that's a easy way to post screenshots .

DroidWall might be useful to you. I don't know if a blocked app/service would continue to try connecting and drain the battery from CPU cycles...

No I haven't tried the full wipe...what does that do that a restore (like I have been doing) can't? I tried using photobucket and tinypic and still get that stupid invalid file notice. Could I post a direct link of the screenshot...I mean its the only pic I have on there

Thank you much. Ill give that a shot and see what happens. In the midst of getting myself in that bootloop I lost my first back up I had in ROM manager meaning my rooted metro rom. is there a way to get that back? Will I have to downgrade then upgrade again?

not sure about the stock stuff. i deleted my original backup as well but have never wanted to go back to stock with all these excellent roms to choose that are far better than the stock in many ways.

I agree with our roms being better then stock. I tried the full wipe and its still the same...dying after about 4 hours. I don't know what else to do. I know you guys are trying to help...Im just lost and annoyed with this phone.

post a screenshot of your battery stats before your phone dies that might give us an idea of what might be eating the battery. maybe the phone is not sleeping properly when screen is off. i know some others have had that problem.

I have screenshots of it a cpl days after it started and after I did the full wipe. I just need to figure out how to post the shot. I could post a direct link to my photobucket if needed. I only have the first shot and the second but its pretty much the same issue

My album isn't private or anything so feel free to check it out if you can look up my album. The name is ChaoticJ1019. Thanks for all your guys help on this. I really appreciate it ;)

well it looks like the phone is going into sleep cycles judging by the pics. the only thing i can suggest is using titanium backup to freeze some apps that may be draining battery. start with things that connect to the internet like maps, facebook, rhapsody fully charge after freezing the apps and see if it makes a difference. if you find anything then work your way back unfreezing one at a time to see what app it might be.

also if you dont already do it try an app like data switch and turn off the 4g when not in use.

anything Facebook or weather seems to do it to me. Enough so, that I have taken to creating links and checking them manually only. I use toggles for radio use, rotate, & screen brightness.

I attempt to post battery info from 3pm this after noon.

P.s. Fresh install of #2 ROM by idrifta. No oc yet. Still doing primary tweaking on it.
:)

OK ill try freezing some apps and see if that works. I don't have facebook other than the messanger.

I disabled maps and flashed the latest ROM by drifta and still nothing. I don't have rhapsody or Facebook except messenger. The battery seems to drain more when I'm not using it which is just weird. I've rebooted it and even took the battery out for a minute. This phone is going be the death of me

Could be that the battery itself is defective/end of life. Perhaps try a different on if that's an option. Is it the stock battery?
