More problems

So I've had the phone for 3 days and yet to have a normal day with the phone. Yesterday I had data but couldn't make a phone call. VM fixed that this morning and now I have no data. I'm starting to miss my MT, it had problems, but nothing like this.

Calm down....its clearly a vm issue...it can be worked out.

I've had to call them 3 times when I received "radio interface resource shortage" when sending a text. It's intermittent. When this happens, I cannot make a call either. Hopefully it's just a network config problem. Tech support is supposed to call me with a resolution.

Weird, I can get on the Virgin Mobile website (Non-mobile) and access everything there, so yes, its network issue. (And I am calm, I never get excited). About to leave work, so hopefully its a local problem.

When I first got activated, my 4g was working and I had voice bars so I thought I was good, but it turns out I couldn't make calls or texts, no other data either except on 4g. I called virgin again and after informing them that I had 4g but nothing else, they transferred me to another guy, who said all those features were disabled on my account, for some reason. He re-enabled them and all was well. Call them back and make them figure it out, you shouldn't have to enter any codes or stuff like that to get the basic features working.

hurricane I had error 64 sending texts too. Do you get a "3g" indicator in your status bar if you turn off 4g? You should, if not call virgin and tell them that.

I made sure the phone stayed off prior to activation and my other phone was off. I'd also switched my plan prior.

I've had no problems and I've just activated my phone too. I get good 4G too.

I had a strange problem for about an hour and a half today where I could receive text but I couldn't send. All my sent messages were pending during that time. At a friend's suggestion I rebooted the phone and noticed on the lock screen it said I had no service yet I could make and receive calls and receive text. After an hour and a half I rebooted the phone again and this time the lock screen indicated my Virgin Mobile service was active and my text messages were finally sent.

This is the only problem I've had with the phone other than the initial activation issue.

Just do a factory reset, i had problems activating when i turned it back on ( it was off thru the whole activation online) and it would transfer to my phone so i just did a factory reset and worked like a charm after the reset the phone automatically activated and everything worked perfectly.

Hey guys for those of you that are having the error "radio interface resource shortage" while trying to send text or make calls I believe I have found a fix for this as it has fixed my girlfriend's EVO V 4G. She was experiencing the same problem and a simple PRL update under the system settings and restarting the phone solved the issue. Let the phone update the PRL when it says it is done, go ahead and restart the phone for safe measure, hope this helps some of you guys out. ;)

I got the error 64 as well. I think this is just because their network is so new. I think it might also have to do with the flashing of new software on the phones.

I did the PRL update and it went away but came back. LOL

I'm hoping this is just temporary and they'll send a fix, Perhaps something simple like "Update Profile".

I was lucky enough to have no problems with my MT. But I've seen horror stories about other people. If they don't have all the problems resolved by the time the iPhone is released for VM, I'm sending the Evo V back and getting that.

Jk. Sprint's 3G sucks.

Did you really just say that? Haha!
Cricket customers think their iPhone will be 4G LTE. I laughed so hard at that.

I don't even think the 4s can handle 4G at all can it?

Virgin Mobile consistently has problems getting new/recently released handsets correctly provisioned on their network. A few weeks or so after launch, VM gets it figured out and the problems "magically" stop. Based on VM's track record, the same goof ups will happen with the iPhone or whatever the next new cool handset will be.

I'd rather have the Evo.

And I was kidding about the iPhone. Android for life. Nothing against Apple, I think they have good products, just not for me is all.
