2 weeks isn't what I was hopping for but I guess I'll take it. After all my wife's NE2 isn't in effect until 3-27-2010 anyway. So waiting until the 6th won't be that big a deal. I predict we get the official specs @ CTIA (or sooner we hope). Which gives a week (give or take) for buzz and ads to build.

My gut tells me that we will see advertising during the March Madness tourney games (not necessarily today).

My theory is that the phone is ready and this is the perfect time for a marketing blitz. Add that they are updating the Motorola Droid to 2.1 at a rate of 250k a day which should keep those customers happy. 10days of updates = 2.5mil phones. Not sure how many they sold, but that should be close.

Then by 3/27, they close the quarter on a strong note and have a good kickoff to 2Q. Old customers are happy with 2.1, new converts get the latest Android phone.

Lastly, to add to the off topic theme of this thread. Go Griz tonight against the Lobos.

well, what does it matter... he is quoting the same source, no?

Tough to tell. It looks like they could be saying they have one in hand, but check out slashgear for more info

or

he is just referring to slashgear to check out info on the phone. I don't know why a VZW conncected news outlet would just be posting rumored speculation..

Well, it's just the first time I've seen a source tied directly to Verizon Wireless publicly admit the phones existence. I'm hoping this means the veil of secrecy is beginning to lift. Maybe this give some credence to the article's information whether it came from our info/sources or not. Interesting nonetheless.

My take is that someone at Verizon Philly Metro is getting a little ahead of themselves, but they know about the phone, perhaps even have them on hand, and KNOW it's coming soon (perhaps they even know the date, but that's embargoed). So they're putting the link to Slashgear out there rather than disclose more of the confidential info they have.

My gut tells me this particular Twit (Twitterer? :D ) wants to be the first to put "official" info out there, but doesn't want to spill ALL the beans yet lest they lose their job.

We're close... Very close.

True, I agree. Maybe advertisements ARE coming soon (possibly today) and this source is just adding some fuel to the fire. Like you said, trying to be the first to release official info.

I'm a long time lurker here making my first post. I'm a crackberry.com member (a great site IMO) and this thread is as useful as any thread I've ever read in that forum.

I read some earlier discussion here about waiting for a while after launch date to purchase the Incredible in order to avoid the kinds of problems typically associated with newly launched phones.

I'm curious about what the history of HTC is regarding problems with newly launched phones and how long it usually takes the problems to be ironed out, as well as whether you think the Incredible will have any of these typical problems.

Is anyone aware of any problems with the Incredible pointed out so far from anyone? For example, before the Blackberry Tour was launched, some people who already had their hands on them reported trackball problems, which a lot of users then had for 2-3 months after the initial releases before RIM corrected the problem.

for what it's worth Twitter is on fire now with feeds regarding the release is just two weeks away.

btw this could be one big April Fools joke!!!!!!!!

It's time I pay my local vzw store a visit again. The most I got out of them a month ago was "we have some very nice phones coming this year." They tried to get off the topic/play dumb when I mentioned the N1 and Incredible.

good question. I had a xv6900 about a week before release (off e-bay) so it was definately 'first run.' I never had a problem with it. but then again... it was on sprint as the "htc touch" prior, so I guess things could have been ironed out by then. I will say I personally think HTC def has higher quality then alot of other manufacturers... (i.e. moto and blackberry).

and for the record - i don't think any issues like that will stop anyone on this forum from loving it and saying it's the best phone ever. we've mostly all made that choice already. lol

Are you sure they are playing dumb? lol

The first HTC device I ever owned was the 8525 back when HTC went buy their full name High Tech Computer Corporation back then Win Mobile was the Smartphone. HTC devices required a lot of restarts (mostly due to winmo). But today HTC puts out a very solid product, and with Verizon

Sorry for the off topic: Does anyone else have to re-sign in (almost) every time they refresh the page or advance to the next page of posts? I'm running Firefox 3.6, on both Macs and PCs.

On Topic: How is the case / screen protector selection on launch date for HTC phones? When I got my iPod classic I put a clear screen protector on the screen, wheel and back plate and it works great. Still looks perfect after over a 16 months of use. I would kill myself if I injured my Incredible waiting for a good case.

I can't believe people are still complaining and asking for thread to be shutdown. Sure it gets a little off tangent.... but really - has anyone ever seen a thread like this with this much detective work? Our Jr sleuths here are Incredible!

Pretty much every website and all info on the entire internet with mention of the incredible - WE CAN TRACE BACK TO HERE!

Everyone here is awesome- and it's f'in amazing and actually kind of funny how much stuff we can dig up (and how much stalking that goes on). My fave was the google maps of the guys house w/ the incredible photoshopped on the roof.

Anywho - keep up the good work everyone. Don't even respond to the people that are complaining. Ignore 'em!

You were baited and you bit, that's all. The point is for some guys to fly in and post an outlandish statement like he did and get as many people to respond as he can to stir things up.

I guess in responding to you, I indirectly bit too, ouch!

Seidio
they're usually quick and probably the best quality cases I've ever used....
