Seidio and Case-Mate discussions for the HTC EVO 4G LTE

I ve had a case mate tough on all the phones I ve owned..from my original evo to my epic touch lived than all. Got one for my lte and have to say it is perfect. Doesn't make the phone too thick, fits perfect and snug, and leaves plenty of room to open the kickstand much Better than the case ate barely there. I have to say case mate tough case Is one of the best cases out there if not the best...

Its growing on me and I really like the feel in my hand with it on.

IF you or anyone for that matter gets that case can you comment on the grip of the case. I have had glossy cases and they all seem to have a good amount of grip but not too much. I bought a matte case for my EVO 3D that was glossy around the edge. The part that was matte had much less grip it was not bad but not sure I would buy another matte if this is the case with all of them.

I'm using that case and it greatly increases the ability to grip the phone. Whether or not you'll have the same experience is a YMMV thing, of course, but for me it's made the phone much easier to handle.

I bet the guy in the forum to be the first to break his, said the same thing. :p

I did not have a case or screen protector on my iPhone 4S but with something this big, I wanted a decent sturdy case on it plus a screen protector right away.
Hah. :)

Well it's all about a trade off of risk -- not even the sturdiest case (pocketable) can eliminate all risk of damage.

Don't get me wrong, I'm the biggest advocate of screen protectors this side of AndroidForums, but a phone's slimness is paramount to me. I was comparing my OG Evo and Evo3D to the LTEvo last night and I really wondered how I got by dealing with those bricks... I'm frankly surprised that people put Otterboxes on those things, making them even bigger and heavier. :)

At any rate, I instead opted for SquareTrade warranty protection with Accidental Damage & Handling, so even without a big case, you could say I'm still protected. ;)

I literally just got my Diztronic TPU case in the mail about ten minutes ago and installed it on my LTEvo. I definitely feel like I made the perfect choice. The matte finish feels very smooth and comfortable to hold. Button cutouts are perfect. The kickstand is still very accessible. There is a slight glossy edge that runs around the front edge of the phone that's parallel with the aluminum band. This helps a great deal with the "grippiness" of the phone with the case installed. It also slides in and out of my pocket with ease. Most importantly, this case doesn't detract from the slim and sexy nature of the phone at all. Part of me actually thinks it enhances it a little.

I think I made the perfect choice.

Hope this helps...

I love purple but not a fan of the glitter. I'll have to see if diztronic is selling a solid purple.

Meanwhile, if you want something a little more ostentatious, this Cruzerlite TPU case is pretty unique:

Did you see this purple case? http://shop.htcpedia.com/htc-evo-4g-dura-gel-tpu-case.html?campaign_id=12 It's solid-ish and purple with a waffle pattern. I actually forgot about this case, I like the Diztronic but glitter wasn't my first choice either. Originally I was going to buy the matte black but it was sold out by the time I got my phone, so I got the purple one. The glitter on it actually isn't bad, it's just girly enough without being over the top :p

No thanks on that Cruzerlite! It's "interesting" :D but not for me! It was already a stretch for me to go purple, almost all my cases over the years have been black, I don't like to draw attention to myself ;)

I did see those. Don't like the semi-transparent look. Much prefer solid colors. Thanks, though!

I'm also not getting the Cruzerlite. Too busy, and those ridges would annoy me.

I agree with most of that and I'm looking forward to the fact that I won't need an extended battery with my future LTEvo as I've had one in my OGEVO for the last year plus. Having said that I will need a case as I'm clumsy but more importantly I've got to have my phone on my belt rather than in my pocket for work so going naked, though my preference, just isn't an option.

@Rose4uKy Did you get your Surface yet? If so, how is it?

i have the dock, and car dock from seidio for my evo 3d. cant be beat for the quality. i hope they make it for the new evo lte. the nice thing is you can keep your case on no mater which one you use.

Anyone else using the Diztronic TPU case having problems with the phone restarting? Over on XDA a few people said the case was pushing the removable portion of the top back of the phone (the glassy back part where the camera is) forward, pushing on the power button, which is forcing restarts. I've noticed that my phone has been restarting at random without any input from me in the past few days. Took the case off to see if the problem continues. Curious if this has happened to anyone here.

If Dizcount = Diztronic  - I have my phone in one of their TPU cases and haven't had this problem.

I've had it on for a few days now and LOVE it. No problems. I like the feel and grip of it, and the cut outs are just about perfect. Also, I have a heck of a time finding the charge port on the phone without the case. Case makes it easy though.

With that said, my wife has reported he phone keeps restarting by its self. I was wondering if the soft root I did had caused it. This makes wonder about the case. When she get's home I'll investigate.

I will say this though: I like the case enough that if it *is* her case turning her phone off, I'd buy another.

Err, yes, I meant Diztronic. I'd get another one IF I knew I wouldn't have the same problem, because it is a nice case. Otherwise I'll just get an Otterbox Commuter.

I have the Diztronic TPU but have not experienced any power issues. I can admit that one of my USB cables don't fit into the charging port as snugly as I would like with the case on. I'm blaming it on the cable, though. The case opening, in my opinion, is sufficient enough.

May I say again that this case kicks major @ss.

I've tried pushing on the removable part of the case, right behind the power button - just to see if I can make it restart... no dice. I can't actually see how pressure on that part could even trigger a restart for me since the power button sits up a little higher. Are you sure the back of your phone is on properly? I know that's kind of a silly question but I had to ask ;)

Seems to be on properly. Other people on XDA have reported a similar problem. I emailed Diztronic about it.

So far, with the case off, no restarts.

I'd have been surprised if you'd have said "huh, look at that! the back wasn't on all the way and now it's not happening" :D

Hopefully you can get some resolution. I'm loving my case, sparkles and all.

Diztronic got back to me. Replacement case on the way. They said they've received four other reports of this, so hopefully it's just a few from that early batch.

Keep an eye on it. I also removed and reapplied both the case and back cover, still got restarts. If the replacement fixes the problem I'll be very happy, because the rest of the case is aces.

Just got my replacement case. Time to see if this does the trick. I hope it does.

Not one unexpected restart once I took the last case off.

I previously had a Seidio Surface Case on my EVO 4G and I had the Seidio Surface case with a kickstand for my 3D which was awesome! I also have had Seidio Active cases. I have bought all Seidio cases and other products for my previous EVO's. I had the 4G and the 3D and now the new EVO 4G LTE.

The Surface case comes in two parts that slide together from top to bottom. It is a nice feel with a cutout for the camera and the kickstand on the back of the top half. The bottom has an opening for the speaker. Inside the case is a nice black felt to help protect the phone. It has the proper cutout for the charging port and for headphones. I don't have any problem turning the power switch off and on and pressing the camera button the camera came right up. Volume up and down buttons work well too in the case. Case covers the whole phone which I like unlike other's I've seen where the front's top and bottom aren't covered good this protects well

It doesn't make the phone to bulky looking or big feeling. The EVO 4G LTE is on thin phone anyway but with this case on it's still really thin. Thinner than it was on my 3D. It feels great in my hand I have no trouble texting or doing anything on the phone while the case is in my hand.

This case can be found here seidioonline.com and it sells for 29.95. Sign up for there mailing list and there is coupons every so often where you can save 10-15% sometimes even 20 which I don't see as often. I got the purple one but there are other colors to choose from. I can take pics too if needed but I would highly recommend this case. You don't have to worry about the camera when setting the phone on it's back in the case. I like the way it feels and it grips good and it's easy to swipe your text holding it in one hand. Seidio stands behind there products and if there is a problem they will take case of you. I now cannot wait for the home dock to come out cause the ones for the EVO 4G and the EVO 3D were great so I can only imagine this one will be good too and your phone will fit in the dock with the case on. Now I did need a car dock now so I got the one from Sprint and yes the phione fits in the Sprint car dock with the Surface case on. I probably will end up buying an Active case later on down the line as I love those cases too.

I don't have any cons I just think it's a good all around case and I am pleased with it and really like it. I won a Sprint contest and got the guy I go out with the Convert Combo cause he had one on his 3D and he loves it. It comes with the surface case holster and more. I did read where one person said they had problems with there camera buttom working in the case and I saw where Seidio replied back to send them another case. My case doesn't have that problem and my camera opens when pressing the button in the case. But like I said Seidio takes care of there customers.

Nuts, I had a Case-mate Barely There on my OG EVO, which I loved, but judging from the photos that NeoteriX posted, the one for the EVO LTE looks quite a bit thicker. Maybe even twice as thick!

That might be a deal breaker for me. I wanted something minimal to protect the corners, and give the back a little more 'gription'.

I'm now at a loss on where to look.

I have the barely-there for the Evo and Evo 3D as well. They are all about the same thickness. The LTEvo itself is so thin that with the case it still feels thin.

I ordered the Barely There but returned it, it's actually pretty thin but the form just didn't do it for me. For a minimal case with gription I highly recommend the Diztronic TPU cases, I love mine!
