Root Need some help on roms..

So I've been looking for a while at the roms that are up here but I'd like a little more info from the people using them rather than just the general info on the forums.
I need a rom that has wifi hotspot, bluetooth, and a better web browser than the stock one.
I typically strip down everything as much as possible to.
Current rom is only 29mb.
I need something that'll get me the best battery life I can get to.

Any ideas?

Probably the best ROM for you would be CTMod since you are going to strip it down anyway. CTMod is pretty much a minimalistic ROM. As for wifi hotspots, the Prevail does not offer that feature. You will need to install an app such as Wireless Tether for Root Users in order to activate a hotspot. I've used wifi tether many many times when I had my Prevail and it works very well.

I was leaning more towards that.
My only issue now is that unless I can use odin, I can't get any roms.
Cwm is just giving me too many issues.
Sorry, I was kinda using the wrong terminology there.
I use the infrastructure mode wifi tether beta.
I just call it a wifi hotspot because it pretty much does the same thing.

If CWM is giving you issues try flashing another rooted stock image w/ Odin and then install this CWM update. Flash using CWM. :D

Also keep in mind that when you flash something with CWM it's best to wipe the Dalvik and the regular cache before you reboot. This may solve many issues you may be having. Sometimes a factory reset is required too.

I've tried all that several times.
Cwm just hates on my phone specifically.
It works fine on any other phone I've worked on.
I got my mom the same phone and have done the exact same things on that one.
Mine just kinda fails.

Darnit man. Ya gotta hate that huh?

I hear ya.. I just got a Marquee and love the hell out of it. If you don't wanna spend the extra money, get a Marquee. You won't be sorry. :D:D

I use to have an evo on sprint.
That's the only reason I'll be upgrading.
I love that phone.
I'm gonna try to hold off until someone finds a way to remove the throttle though.

Fat chance, throttling is done SERVER side, not phone side... No mod/tweak/ROM/kernel etc will change that

im not positive but im pretty sure it is possible to disable it on our side...but vincent knows his stuff so maybe im wrong

Some info... It does mention workarounds, tho not Android specific. I'm sure there are things that will give you a little boost in speed, which will help counteract the throttling, but actually disabling it, (though not impossible.

) isn't very likely... but then again, even a fat chance is still a chance :D

how do i check to see how much data is used on my phone???? also request for friend from me.

I think it is something you would have to monitor it yourself when you 'reboost' there are apps on the market for that, but as far as finding out after the fact... Call boost maybe?
