Root Update FA19 to FE16

This is a good update, better signal.

I do wonder if another update will be coming because I couldn't get the phone in debugging mode. I've switched to a custom rom and debugging is back.

So at the very least, just flash the phone.tar to get better service.

funny, I had no problems with getting USB debugging to work. It's kind of a necessity to make the stock image

can i edit my build.prop running ctmod 3.6 rom?
 
I just redid my phone with CTMod and FA19. The phone is terribly slow compare to what it was before. Most of what you guys are doing is above my head. Is it safe to assume that there will be an update to CTMod for the build.prop tweaks and whatever else you guys are doing?

most of the best changes are done in ctmod3.6, i dont think it's recommended to start changing values on it...if its simply about making changes, go back to stock and make that better :)
 
I'm very new but first I want to say Thank you to everyone who makes all of this possible and such a positive and response community.

With that said, I know I probably sound crazy but is anyone else noticing worse battery life since the update to FE16?

I mean i guess do to signal strength going up a bit it would be expected but instead of going down maybe 15 percent in a 8 hour day. Today its gone down 32%.

Nothing about my daily life has changed or how I am using the phone, just the baseband...Again probably silly and another thing I'm just not experienced enough to figure it out/see with my phone but figured I'd ask.

The lockscreen is great, but itll be a few days till I make up my mind on performance. The rest looks pretty much like the fa19.
 
just remember everyones phone acts different to things. some will work great and some won't. that is why here is so good, we all try things and let others know what is happening for us. then others try and maybe and maybe not.

and has to do with how we setup things and what we do effects the way our phone acts and performs. one might have 10 apps and all works great someone else might have 90 and the effect will be diff..

Tried flashing back to stock and FA19 and back again but Airplane mode is now my friend! Drat! Just when things were getting interesting...

The root booted up on airplane for me, but turned it off fine right away.
 
Call me crazy but I don't trust boost mobile update after fa19. I saw what it did to others phones and I never touched it, I still wont. So I noticed it mentioned that this fe16 is faster than fa19, well anything is faster than fa19 from what I have seen... what's the experience of people going from ejo6 to the new fe16??
 
I switched from EJ06 to FE16 the moment Kouma had it ready for us and haven't looked back. It's nothing like FA19 was. I get a bit better and more consistent signal and my 3g is about the same it seems.

DID you try restoring your latest cwm image thats what i would try then just flash the baseband im not a fan of not having my sound mute on my lockscreen so thats my main reason for flashing just the baseband so i can keep my shit simple CWM is your best friend

I've been using the FE16 update and I haven't really noticed any significant difference.
If we ever end up in the same room somewhere, we could do a side-by-side I guess. Could probably do that with a lot of things that can be affected by so many variables. Hard to argue with 2 identical phones with one difference downloading the same exact file simultaneously in the same spot

i totally agree!!!! too many variables in peoples setups and configurations, which effect performance. everyone says what are you running and try that and then say won't work, or forcloses, ect... all depends on phone and prefferences and setups!!!

Very well said.
I think this update is more for the minimalist like myself.
Like I said before. It was kinda bad at first, but once I stripped it down, it became great.
Plus I think they made the stock apks a little smaller.
With this same set up, I went from 28 - 29mb to 21mb of data and apps.

My mom's phone is on ej06 with the exact same set up as mine.
My phone is noticeably faster.
