do you automatically qualify for google voice if you purchase an android phone, like the incredible or do you still have to wait for an account or an invite? i must say: I use my google voice heavily for business.

as i said, maybe it's already been hashed, but it appears that someone on the official side of verizon is going on record and stating something is about to happen.

I think we already know the N1 is coming out very soon, so I'm not sure that adds any further confirmation to anything other than, well, the N1 is coming soon.

I don't think they're related. Google voice is still not open to the public, and thus still requires an invite (kind of like how Gmail was in the beginning).

probably so. i just thought it was worth something as it came directly from vzw and not somebody's girlfriend's uncle that knows someone that works there.

Alot of members on here have actually been bugging that tweeter for quite some time now, however not much info has come out of him/her, unfortunately.:mad:

that's a shame because gvoice is one of the hottest google devices.
 
I got my invite for google voice about two days after requesting it. I can't wait to finally have a phone to use it on.

Yeah, I think it was 4 days after I requested. But I've also done wave, gmail, and other betas, too. I have no idea if that factors in, but I'm sure it didn't hurt. You CAN use gvoice with non-android phones, mind you. You don't have the luxury of visual voicemail, but I use it with my Dare, and I get texts with transcripts, and have it set up to forward to my gvoicemailbox instead of my VZW one.

i wasn't invited. i applied. i got three invites. one went to my daughter who doesn't use it on her BB yet :rolleyes:

and the other two just went first come first serve to to Android Forum brothers who asked me first. sorry. i wish i had more :(

I get the text, too, but I am can't wait for the visual voice mail. Do you think the incredible will have the app preloaded?
On a side note, I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't hear anything at CTIA since we've heard HTC will be announcing ONE phone. Granted they could announce more than one, but it could easily be the supersonic or something else. I see verizon holding off on any advertisements until a few days before release in order to keep selling droids.
