Nope. 1) You wouldn't have seen a Verizon stamp on the back of the Incredible if they were s-canning the design. 2) Even if they pulled the 11th hour switch, then the testing period would reset and the phone would be delayed months (like through the summer). Somebody at HTC simply has their wires crossed with what Sprint and Verizon are getting.
That's what I think too, which is why I prefaced my previous comments as being highly speculative. Let's face it; until there's concrete news from credible sources on this phone all we have to go on here anymore, it seems, is speculation. Very frustrating indeed!

Photographers seem to agree that greater MP count is a myth in photography, even though many consumers believe that a higher megapixel count will result in better pictures. There are other components of a camera besides MP count that create a better picture. Last but not least, factors such as lighting and the way that you shoot the photo makes the largest difference.

All said, if the Incredible has a 4.3 screen instead of a 3.7 screen at the sacrafice of an 8MP camera, I would find 5MP more than good enough to shoot good pics. The lower MP count would not stop me for a second from buying the Incredible.

And if it has a 4.3" TFT screen instead of AMOLED? What about if it doesn't have 8GB internal storage? They can't just throw a bigger screen onto all the other specs we've heard. They are 2 separate and different phones. Me personally, I'd take a 3.7" AMOLED over 4.3" TFT any day and throw in 8GB internal storage and it's a no brainer.

Someone keeps messing with the Google Wave on the Incredible. It's completely effed up and actually has disappeared from my inbox. I say we make it private and then if we want invited to it, we post our emails in here. I can't remake it as I don't have the source materials so if Barry could remake it, that would be great.

my choice does not have much to do with the 8mp over 5mp. I know about cameras. The Incredible overall is a better phone based off what we know and I will be very unhappy if they switch them now. Personally I dont want a bulky 4.3 LCD when we can have the better 3.7 AMOLED

edit: actually if they switch them I'd probably take the n1

Could everyone just relax? Geez, nothing that dramatic is going to change with the Incredible. That's just silly to even contemplate that it might. That HTC employee was either mistaken or smoking something. We've seen the test phone, two of them. I trust people who have the phone in hand and are feeding us details and pictures over some random talk from some HTC employee. We've seen this phone with Verizon branding on it. Everyone just relax and don't get all "confused." There's nothing to be confused about. Look at the first post and look at the sticky in the other thread that shows all of the evidence and confirmed specs that we have for the Incredible. There's no way that they just turned a complete 180 at the last minute and changed the whole thing. Not. Possible.

Nash, when you consider the person reporting the news of the device the HTC employee purported to be coming to Verizon this AM is the same person that created the sticky on the Incredible and is somewhat of a pseudo-mod here, from what I can tell, what the heck are we to make of it?

Can someone invite me to the new wave? Please let me know who needs to do so and I can PM my e-mail.

Thanks!

I got a gmail account before I got an android phone. Gmail, Voice and Wave are all free so no harm in it. One number is nice if you have several contact numbers that people can reach you at. So now your friends (hopefully you're smart enough not to give it to family) can use just 1 number to call you regardless of where you are.

Yeah....I already have that one number that friends can reach me at....my cell phone number! :D Still, in the future I'm thinking I could be harder to reach...like overseas....so it might be a good idea to secure the one single Google Voice number now...just for future usage. Thank you for the replies.

As far as I can tell, we have two "hopes" for info today:

1. Kcoan3, who works for Verizon, was supposed to have a meeting that included a Verizon rep today, and
2. Another poster said awhile back that there were rumblings that Verizon would make a big announcment on March 19th.

As long as we get some kind of official announcment between today and the end of CTIA and the phone makes its way into my hands by mid-April, I'll be happy.

Steve Job's handy work.

I have a feeling that Verizon will make a statement sooner then later (something today perhaps). I can't wait to see some unboxing shots.
