Evo V Battery life

I bought the 4000 mAh extended battery off amazon. The last time I charged my phone was 2 days ago finished at 4 pm. It's close to 3pm now and I still have 35 percent left. I've been streaming video (for 2 hours), music, wifi has been on for 2 days straight. Unbelievable.

Battery life with this is insane! Under heavy, heavy usage (4G on a lot, video streaming) I still get at least 20 hours

I would love to fit the 3500 or 4000 mAh under a case like the Otterbox Defender; has anyone found such a combination?

So far today, had 4G on all day and heavy, heavy usage with 4 hours of screen on time, 8 hours on battery and I have 52% left.

My battery life has been fairly well. I went to work 4:30-11 with the battery at 39% went i got off it was at 36% but that's because i have battery defender set to turn off my 3g went the screen is off. And the 3g connects almost instantly went i turn the screen back on.

I've been using the Seidio battery for the last few days and am really impressed with it. It does add some bulk, but the shape feels good in my hand. I can use my phone all day long and still be at 75%. It's nice to not have to worry about turning gps/4g/bluetooth/screen brightness off to save battery. If you don't care about the extra bulk like myself, I highly recommend this battery.

Compared to my EVO 4G this thing is awesome. I pull it off the charger at 7am and with moderate use, gmail, hotmail, FB and weather pulling all day it still have 30 - 40 percent at 10 pm. My EVO 4G was toast under the same load at 6pm.

I think that my battery life is even better than my lowly Wildfire S had. I'm more inclined to purchase a couple of oem batteries and an external charger. Keeps the phone sleek, is much cheaper and you have more redundancy if your battery decides to crap out. The op made me smile by saying that his Triumph would be hitting the wall by 10 p.m., with my Triumph it seemed more like 10 a.m. :D

Look into Anker batteries, you will get a bit extra capacity (without a thick battery) and they are priced similar to or cheaper than OEM.

18 hours on my EvoV and still at 50%.

I run the Anker 1900 mAh batteries and I'm getting over 2 days of use out of a single charge. I would be in the list of folks that "barely uses phone during the workday."

Seriously, minimal usage, I would think nearly 3 days with this battery.

Here's my battery life from today 19 hours and still at 50 percent

The screen just obliterates the battery (as does backing up and flashing).
You can do a ton and barely touch the battery so long as the screen stays off.

The 1900mah Anker battery though... LOVE IT!
A day and a half to two days is easily done so long as I'm not screwing around.

I just wanted to add that this is the best battery I've had yet for a phone as well. Compared to the previous three phones I've had (see left), this has amazing battery life. Of course I crank off WiFi, 4G, and GPS but with just 3G, this thing is a beast. I left GPS and 4G on the first week and while it took a lot more out of it, I still had about 20-40% battery life by the end of the day.

I also want to add that I absolutely hate anything and everything that would make my phone bigger. I already got a $2 case which I feel is perfect for it. I always hated screen protectors as well... guess I'm the oddball of the bunch. ;)

Get a cheap $1 screen protector from Ebay, after a day, you won't feel or see a difference, and you will be protected.

Some of the expensive protectors feel HORRID!
I don't get what they were thinking when they made them. Zagg being one of them.

Mines doing pretty well. I have 3g on most of the time, not sure does it auto turned off while screen off or not, but it doesn't drop a % in at least 2 hours. ( I have rooted and use set CPU to set it down to 384 min and max during screen off.) Daily use is much more than the triumph with cm7 with battery apps and twets.

I don't have the phone yet, getting it soon, but I ordered the 2x Anker 1900mah batteries with charger on Amazon and I'm thrilled at what people on here are saying about them. I will probably only need one, but I figured for only $8 more, it's nice to have a spare.

As Leslie had mentioned, the charger is kind of strange at first, but after you've used it once, you'll find it's a pretty slick little device. This thing is so flexible it will charge pretty much any traditional phone battery.

I've been in a 4G area (my apartment barely picks it up, but I'm on wifi in the house anyway) for like a total of 3-4 hours so far, but WiMAX drain was much less than I expected. I'm getting better battery life stock than I did with any ROM on the OV.

This was a second gen 4g radio and while a lot better they do still suck down some juice. The first gens, you really hated to turn them on, you could almost hear the sucking sound as the battery withered away.

But yeah, battery life on these is quite nice. A nice change from a stock OV that's for sure. It takes a very tweaked and rooted OV to even come close to these while stock. Rooted and rom'd the little OV doesn't stand a chance.

A week in, and I don't know that I've even got below 25% in a given day. I think even with WiMAX on and semi-regular use, I could still get 10 hours.

I don't use my phone that much maybe 10 minutes in an hour max and it still goes down 10%+/hour. Anyone know whats causing this? The battery usage breakdown is mainly my screen sucking power but next highest is the cell standby.

There are apps in the play store that monitors battery stats better. Might wanna download CPU Spy. See if your phone is going into deep sleep.

If you're rooted, anthrax is a good kernel to run for battery life. When your screen is off, both cores go offline, saving you a lot of juice.

What exactly are you doing during those 10 minutes?
