I thought I did everything right and I followed each step to the T but I still can't get my phone rooted, I think it has the B08 version and I wanna try and root my phone so I can use it as a mobile hotspot, nothing else I need it for it being rooted. Can someone please help me out?? Thanks!!

Hi,
It's really easy.
Go to Snake X's [Root][Recovery]Ultimate warp drive!
Download one file there - utimate warp drive.rar
Download 7zip to unpack the rar (rar is like dumb zip) - 7-Zip
Everything will unpack into a folder named, ultimate warp drive.
Inside that folder, you will see a file called "- RUN ME - root + cwm + stock.bat"
On your phone go to settings, then applications, then development, then check USB debugging.
Also, under applications, check UNKNOWN SOURCES.
Plug in your phone.
Run that .bat file (get a dos window, go there, type in the name, or just double-click it, I forget the best way on windows - probably double click will work).
Choose option 1 - wait patiently and don't tinker with anything.
When it's done, you have full root with CWM installed.
I was wrong about one thing - remember I said that root was achieved by finding a security hole to exploit, CWM is installed last?
CWM is part of the security exploit here.
Snake X modified his post on June 4, so his stuff there is up to date.
Ignore the "stock_XXX_rom_signed.zip" files completely.

Everything you told me to do, I did except I already have the warp driver downloaded to my desktop. I'm still lost after I can't find the dumb zip or whatever that's called 
I might as well just give it up, wanted to use the wifi tethering so when I'm at my boyfriend's house, I don't have to worry about paying for additional internet when I can just use my phone but I can't figure out how to root the dang phone

I also can't figure out why my computer is not picking up my usb function unless I messed something up or I don't have the right driver installed.... used to be able to transfer files using my usb cord but it's not wanting to work
Try a different port
I know nothing about cwm, that's why I'm clueless on how to root my phone lol. Unless someone can just tell it to me step by step, I don't know what else to do. I followed everything knoxville363 to root the phone and I don't know why it dind't work.

The thing that people (myself included when I first started to learn) do and shouldn't is they "Turn on USB storage" when they connect to their PC's. Don't do that. Just plugging in your phone with USB Debugging and Unknown Sources checkmarked as mooseberry instructed. The one click root "run me" will work if you don't "turn on USB storage" when you plug into your PC. If your phone recognizes the USB cable and asks you if you want to turn on usb storage then you should have the correct drivers installed.
