Root How to install OTA manually?

So I'm having an issue where I installed the leaked rom at sdx and then a power menu mod that required deoxd roms. The catch is that my phone says the software version is back to 1.05. I checked for an OTA and I'm getting a message saying that my phone is up to date. I reflashed stock recovery and tried to manually install the zip but the ota zip won't install in recovery: I get an error saying can't mount cache/command (or something like that) and then I try to install update from external storage and my phone just reboots. Soo...how can I got about manually installing the OTA since my phone says I don't need to update? Thanks.

That ics rom I linked is suppose to be 1.10.653.2 which is your guys ota. Now what happened with that rom in the link I am not sure. As my rom is from the 1.10.653.2 ruu. If I had to guess that the dev of that rom included a build.prop from the boost first leak. Where you should be on 1.10.653.2 so running the ota won't do a thing, let alone you can't run the ota on a deodex rom.

I flashed the stock leaked ics and not your rom -- I thought that the stock leaked one was 1.10 too, though, so I'm not sure why my phone is reading 1.05. I wiped everything before flashing, then wiped cache and dalvik. Maybe try reinstalling?

It's a zip and repackaged unless you flashed the ruu in fastboot so it's not a stock leak per say well unless of course there is one floating around here on AF that I'm unaware of.

Please read what I said as I didn't say my rom for say. I said that rom I linked which I seen that you flashed. It is suppose to be 1.10 as the same as mine. If I had to guess the build.prop is a older one and the firmware version is wrong. It has no affect to the rom at all. If it is 1.10 firmware you could have in the build.prop 9.9.9.9 or what ever you want. Where it will still be 1.10, I am not the dev of that rom though. So the best bet is to contact him and see what he says is the issue. Where as I said is is probably 1.10 with a old build.prop, unless you flashed the first boost leak.

So is it the build.prop that controls what version the phone reads as?

Yes you are correct, Should be halfway down it. It displaying wrong will have no affect on the phone, but being right would be a extra piece of mind. Though if you will link what rom you flashed. As there was two ics builds. It might be the older one.

It's a moot point now -- I flashed a diff rom that's either the correct build or just displaying correctly and it's running well. The one I did flash was the leaked ics over at sdx that was displaying 1.05 but saying I was up to date.
