Skullcandy aviator headphones not working with xperia s...

Lurker
I bought a pair of Skullcandy Aviator headphones (which are actually for ipods) to use with my xperia s. They have the same 3.5mm jack.
Unfortunately they wont work and plays through speakers when I connect them.

Where can I buy adapters for such headphones to use with my handset???

Have they got the volume control and mic on the wire?

If so the jack is incompatible. I had some ace senheizer headphones with full iPhone control that don't work.

Unfortunately it's new headphones time!

There are two different types of headphone jacks, standard and shite phone, oh I mean iPhone..

I don't remember the difference but I understand one doesn't always work with the other

Coincidentally, I also have the new Xperia S and a pair of Aviator headphones.
The issue is, the phone doesn't automatically pick up the headphones; hold down the + volume button while you plug them in and they'll connect up fine. No need to buy new headphones!

I signed up just to say thank you for this info! I was bummed when it popped up saying they wouldn't work. Your tip saved me a lot of frustration!
