I have the Recently added to Boost Mobile (HTC EVO DESIGN 4G) and i noticed when i have Data Enabled/Running to surf the web. In the Status bar I got the word EvDo Up&Down Arrows that Flash or stay lit up when ever i surf the web. I Researched what EvDo or EVDO stands for and it is just a Data Standard for Wireless Communications that appears to mean Data is maximized.

I remember on my Boost Mobile ZTE Warp that supported 3G and under it would say in the Status Bar 3G 2x or 1X Depending on the Quality Available depending on where i was at most of the time i had 3G Data all over town but in a few places it would say 1X and my phone was always on CDMA-EV/DO Mode.

I know that my Boost Mobile HTC EVO DESIGN 4G Supports 3G as well not just 4G????????

I am in Santa Fe,New Mexico by the way I cannot find any information about 4G Availability of Sprint or Boost Mobile in Santa Fe,New Mexico right now even at the Sprint Store Just Wondering if as of right now i am have 4G Data on my HTC EVO DESIGN 4G anyone know??????????

If i am getting 4G Data on my Boost Mobile HTC EVO DESIGN 4G i should not need to use ( 4G SETTINGS Tap to scan for 4G Service) am i right??????????

im using the vm 3vo same os when wimax is engaged a 4g indicator with signal bars take the place of 3g indicator. if its not there now its not coming sprints moved to lte build out i hope this helps you

Excellent thank you you answered my question damm so i am guessing that sprint/Boost will take a ****ing century to make 4G Data available in my area i figured well atleast i am getting 3G Data which will suffice.

By the way is it better to have CDMAEVDO or EVDO Mode on?????

I notice that my Mobile Network Mode only has EVDO.

I really doubt, with them moving towards lte, that they are going to expand the wimax 4g coverage area.... Who knows, I could be wrong.

EVDO is better than CDMA.....That said, having it set on both will still allow you to get 1x when EVDO is not available. 1x is slow as hell... If you notice your phone switching back and forth throw it on EVDO only, if not leave it on either.

I read somewhere that the wimax towers contract was running out in a year or two and everything is going lte. If boost cant reup the contract then what we have is pretty much it.

The map on the webpage says my house has coverage but near the edge but i have to go like 3 blocks down into the coverage area to get it :S stinks.

Sprint owns the majority of ClearWire, the current contract allows them unlimited access until 2013, after that they'll have to renegotiate. They have stated that Wimax will be phased out in 2015. And there will be no further buildout so if you don't have it now you never will.
