Root {PORT} Behold 2 Stock ( No Twiz w/ Root & Busybox )

Hey BH_MAN, is there a way to bypass the lock key on the behold and just unlock the phone using the visual password like on the g1 for ex?

Go to Menu > Settings > Security & location ... and then setup your screen unlock pattern.

When your phone is turned off, you no longer have to hit the lock button on the side. Just press menu and draw your unlock pattern ... voila, you're in.

EDIT - Menu used to work on the old firmware but now I guess you have to press the lock button on the side.

if you press the end/power button in turns the screen on even with the new update. We never got a new firmware, we only got a baseband and kernel update. A firmware update is like going from 1.5 to 1.6.

Big thanks to BH_MAN and all those others who have put their heart and soul into this.I only have 1 issue I loaded the new files and am now having issues with my sd card mounting and unmounting then it deletes all data and is unreadable.Any ideas or comments greatly appreciated.

flash again without sd card in phone, format sd card on computer then put back in the phone, sorry other than that I have no idea:confused:

Only thing that I have noticed in this build is the location services seem to be off... by a lot. I'm usually in Nevada or California (I'm in Florida). Anyone having this issue?

Also, whenever I unlock the unit, the screen flashes static before it unlocks. Is this due to the build as well?

Fast build though :)

uhmm...what is the difference with this odin or update compared to the previous release from BH_MAN? Any speed gains or improvements?

thanks. I have the update with the blue asterisk at the bottom of the first post lol...i thought the latest update is only for an easier install.

cool, i'll try to odin this new update.

thanks!!

The location is an issue with TMO's 3G signal. If you switch to EDGE or use GPS, it works fine.

And the static is a new "bug" with the Samsung update.

ok i tried running odin...i got a popup error saying to check image. in the window of odin it just says download start...and the start button is clickable again...

did it install? i'm not sure if I should unplug now... look slike nothing's happening...

EDIT:

nevermind got it to work lol.... I thought I onlyneeded the PDA part, but after putting the OPS in as well it went through....

this is nice!!!! thank BH_MAN!!!

Just updated my phone, and looks like a very nice image, much faster than stock etc. Very good job BH_MAN, kam, etc. !

Thank you so much for this awesome rom. I hated this phone and wanted to smash it. I still didnt have the update and the lag was killing me on top of the active sync issues. This is so much cleaner and samsung could take a lesson from all you developers. Exciting stuff, and I cant wait for 2.0.

Has anyone had any issues with hidden wifi networks?

My network is as follows:

WRT54G w/ Tomato 1.27 firmware
AES2 key
Hidden SSID
Only allowing macs which I enter (I did add the phone :p)

I am using the latest ODIN image which I flashed over the latest former method of removing touchwiz. On other networks I have little issue, but a weaker rage than prior phones. Should I use the wifi driver listed on page one? I did with the previous mod as well.

When the wifi does work, I get 1-2 bars of signal; I am sitting at most 10 feet from the AP. My laptop, desktop and girlfriend's iphone have no issues on the network, nor did my old Nokia 5800 XM.

*Update*

Deleting and re-adding the AP seems to have reconnected me for now. It was working for me last night but was very weak. This morning prior to deleting and re-adding I had no access at all, seems to be a bit better after completing the process.

I had the same sentiments as EDTIVA. I was ready to get rid of my behold 2. I just have to say THANK YOU to BH_MAN and everyone that helped him. Thanks much for all your hard work, the community really does appreciate your work. :D

I also wanted to thank BH_MAN and others who got this project going. I have a couple comments on my phone. First off, this is a huge improvement! I flashed the last release onto a stock 1.5 and everything worked great, except the battery life seemed lacking.

I just figured out how to ODIN the newest release (I didn't know you needed to put the phone in download mode) but now I have two issues. Now my 8gb sd card reports it was removed every few hours, forcing me to re-insert it. It didn't do that with the previous release.

The other thing is that I am unable to unlock the screen with the pattern screen. If the screen locks or I hit the lock button with the pattern unlock set, it requires me to hit the unlock key, and then put in the pattern. Is there a way to use the pattern to unlock primarily?

For anyone that liked BH_MAN's super blue theme for the galaxy rom.
I have only run this on the newest version of the stock ROM with T939UVJA3 kernel

Download: Super_Blue_for_{PORT}_Behold_2_Stock.zip

Unzip to AndroidSDK\tools

Code:
adb shell
rm /system/framework/framework-res.apk
exit
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/
adb shell
reboot

Thanks a ton to BH_MAN and all who worked hard on this project
BH_MAN.... Hope you don't mind.

The same thing happend to me as far as the sd card mine was a 16 gb.It did that several times then the card became unreadable and went bad not sure if it was a bad card or what.Put my old 8gb card in and havent had any issues. So I think i may have gotten a bad card.

Swype works good with this too. BH_MAN and too everyone else who have given up so much of your family time.
Thank You Thank You Thank You

I'm not sure if this question belongs here, but since AdvancedLauncher is used in this rom, I'll ask anyways.

Is there a way to customize the way AdvancedLauncher looks in regards to the app window, color, etc...

Hmm my phone just became unresponsive while in sleep/standby twice in 10 minutes. This never happened before on the other two ports i have tried before this kernel packaged version. The first time it happened i was using pandora in the car and when it suddenly stopped playing music i only assumed i drove through a dead zone. When i got to my friend's house it seemed like the phone wasn't on. Pressing unlock wouldn't do anything so i thought it was off. So i press and hold the power button for a long time and nothing. I had to pull the battery then turn it back on with the power button. I figure it was a fluke so i threw my phone into my pocket and ate dinner with the friend. After dinner i checked my phone only to have it stuck in permanent stasis lock. I will let the phone sleep again for 10 or more min to see if it happens again.

Thanx for the SuperBlue Theme man,i like it better than original.I have two questions,i did everything you said installing the theme but not everything is changed,Dialer, icons, and apps drawer is still the same, did you theme them like in Galaxy port?If so what i need to do to make them change?Factory reset?
