phone was stolen please help, have questions

alright well i was on vacation in Florida a couple days ago and my gs2 was stolen so i called att suspended the phone as soon as i realized it was gone. i immediately changed my gmail password, however i know that they can still access the internet through a wifi connection and my questions is can they still get onto my gmail account and install and purchase apps through the marketplace if they wanted to even though i changed my gmail password? im asking this becuase my gmail account always signed me in automatically and i never had to enter my password manually...and my debit card was linked to the marketplace for purchases and whenever i wanted to buy an app i just clicked install and it would take care of the rest..so im just really nervous if they can still access my information and if maybe there is a way for me to create another gmail account altogether and not lose all of my apps...any suggestions on things i can do just to make it so they cant get into my information would be greatly appreciated:confused:

i have not tested the market place but if you change your gmail password, they cannot access your emails. The phone will prompt them to enter the current password. My guess is that market purchases will not work until the correct password is entered.

I think you're safe but there's not much you can do other than remove your credit card from your google account so they can't charge anything.

Your other option is to call your CC company and tell them not to accept any google purchases.

Changing your password will protect your emails and your Google Play account. If you create a whole new account, the market apps you've paid for won't download for free any more...you'd have to purchase them again. But, I see no need to do that. Just continue using your account with the new password and you'll be fine.

In the future, I would suggest you use a strong sign-on procedure...like a complex gesture, or password, for the phone. Yes, it's a hassle, but would make it very difficult for someone else to gain access to the phone. If they can't access the phone, they can't see what's on it. Just a thought.

It's also a good idea to encrypt important, or sensitive, files on the phone...for the same reasons.

I think you are okay too. I'm guessing they won't be able to get in unless they know the new password. The phone will probably ask for it since the old password will not work. To be on the safe side I would remove the card from the account for now.

You could try pan b.
This app is amazing:

You log into the market on pc and send it to the device. You can then track it (using it's gps)

Edit-just re read and realized you deactivated it. But for future reference, i suppose...
This one is even better. You can take photos and record audio, as well as track with gps, and many other features. My boyfriend's phone got stolen, and we were able to get its location, and it told us when they tried to put in a different sim. We went to the police with the info, and they are going to try to prosecute. They got the persons name who was connected to the sim they inserted.

I'm sorry to hear what had happened. Hopefully things will work out in your favor.
