haha i try to stay calm while reading this thread..i mean so what if i check it 6 to 7 times a day and im sitting in my recliner nervously shaking while rocking back and forth searching for posts that have thank yous cause those usually lead to worth while info..i mean so what if i have 2 bottles of wine with corkscrews in the corks waiting and a old wooden box with black lettering that says FIREWORKS and they range from snakes to half sticks of dynamite incase phone is released this week...this is literally like finding that oh my god item on black friday but you've searched and researched the internet for for 3 weeks prior checking review and doing your homework on diff prices..

i think this thread will only increase our satisfaction of the phone once we hold it in hand cause all the waiting will have been worth it..

on a side note they should sell android forums shirts that we could wear when going to buy the phone! haha or android forum boxer briefs whatever..haha

I am a little worried about this week. With all the talk that will be going on about LTE at CTIA, I have a bad feeling that the HTC phone that is going to be shown will be the Supersonic. I hope not, but it is very possible.

That is what I am worried about too. I am trying to stay positive...just hope I'm not disappointed
 
Well, it looks like ol' VZW has redeemed itself. We were all trashing them months ago about how they don't ever get any good phones, and they don't care about the power users, and all they care about is their network.

WELL GUESS WHAT From what the man at the VZW store told me, they told HTC: "Hey, we don't want a variant of the Desire, we want something better!" And I think that explains the 8MP camera and possibly more RAM.

Are you kidding? I check it like every 15 minutes when I'm at home and it's the first thing I look at when I get back from being out and when I wake up in the morning.

"My" VZW store rep told me that the new HTC phone will run chrome OS (vs. android 2.1) as well as it having nuclear power (not 1300 battery) and having a SLR camera (not 8.0 mp). Finally, I guess HTC/VZW made a last minute change to the FM radio and I believe he said it will be a HD receiver.

Take it for what it's worth. But I'm pretty sure this is legit.

...I hope they have cases for it when it comes out! (and lead vests).

I am really thinking it is not going to be an either/or type situation, but I see both devices making an appearance. Sprint has been very open about the existence of phones in the past, months before launch. Seeing that the SS won't even be out until late June (according to the latest reports from Sprint themselves) I can see them making an official announcement of its existence to try and take some of the excitement of an official announcement by HTC of it's embargoed device - the Incredible destined for VZW. As Nash was saying, this is basically a first of it's kind type of device with the specs behind the screen. 1Ghz Snapdragon - yes it exists on other phones...but not with possibly 1GB of RAM, 6+ GB of onboard storage, plus the ability to extend by another 32GB. I think the key is going to be just exactly what that onboard storage is used for. The limitations of saving apps to a micro sd card had to primarily do with the legalities of pirating the pay-for apps. Add onboard storage, and all of a sudden that aspect that has limited storage capabilities in the past no longer exists.

My VZW rep just told me, that the incredible will know when you have to go to the bathroom and will direct you to the nearest and cleanest one.

Oh, and it will know when you are in a room of pretty girl and find the hottest one you can handle. However, it does not work in reverse, sorry girls.

Oh, oh, it will delete from existence any "wayward" sext that you may get 5 seconds after you read it.

And, last but not least, yeah, I went to the well one too many times on this one

haha okay maybe i was throwing a low number out there to not seem to crazy..haha so what if my history of websites are always af,hofo,phonearena,engadgetmobile, and bgr everyonce in a while ill check vzw forums but uhhh if your into reading posts that happened hear back around xmas then urr prolly all set with going there..haha

The really funny thing is if I was out, Ill come home & read to get updated. Then, passout/go to bed. Then when I wake up & get to checking for any new info in the morning - its like reading it all over again for the first time! LOL - too much alcohol is not good for the brain cells ...:p

LOL really? So if you buy a N1 straight from google you dont pay for service? AWSOME!!! I gotta get me some free service. Screw the Incredible, the N1 gives you free service...
 
One of my verizon sources told me that "it's coming... soon." that's as much as I got out of him so far... he also let me know that Monday or Tuesday the 2.1 updates should resume...

if he nails that 2nd part I think we are still looking good for that 3/27 date!

Tomorrow's going to be either incredibly

A) Tense waiting for our great moles to find more info

OR

B) Exciting when the moles dig up some hard evidence of release date (or at least confirming the CTIA announcement)
 
I think you can find something in our favor if you look at last fall's history.

If I remember right we officially knew that Sprint was getting the Hero for well over a month before it was released. We knew about the droid official only a week (maybe two... can't remember) before release. Of course Motorola is nice enough to allow (or maybe force) there PM's to post on forums. Howardforums had their droid pre release thread go through 4 iterations, some where closed because of size, some because of behavior and they had two Moto insiders leak some info and confirm leaked info from other sources. They actually still post there which is where I get to read about the Shadow.

I'm sure HTC and Sprint would be talking up the SS all day long if it was ready. Obviously it is not as it won't be out till June. I read a while ago the WiMax stack was a mess, which isn't surprising since it would have to be new code.

Also, another thing about all these release date discrepancies. When the droid came it there was no internet pre-sale. From what I gather from other Verizon users that was not normal. There are a good portion of phones that are available a week or two online and then sold in stores. Perhaps that is why we are hearing different dates :crosses fingers: . Maybe we could all order it online this week and get it next day'd with an automatic rebate instead of going in stores.

i was just wondering if there are any other threads on AF are close to the size of this one and i think we are blowing them all away by around 9,000 post!!! wow i think back and remember when this thread was created seems like it was just yesterday...

it takes me a good 3 days to get over someone messing with my frosted flakes! :mad:

I should be all better by Tuesday. thanks for the concern
