Help My phone is sending 2 emails instead of just one

Hello everyone, I'm using the default email app, set up for my Gmail account, IMAP enabled, auto-expunge off, move messages to the trash. Anyway, every time I send an email from my phone, when I go and look at it on the computer, it sent it twice (at the same time; the time stamp is the same). Also, one of the most frustrating things is when I delete email from my phone, 5 seconds later it pops back up as new. That's why I changed the setting to auto-expunge off and move messages to the trash, to see if that would help, and it doesn't seem to have. Any help will be appreciated, thanks a lot!

The same thing is happening to me. On microsoft exchange server, I am getting duplicates showing up on my sent mail. Also, when I read gmail on my phone and then delete them, they show up on my computer at home as never having been read or deleted.

This exact problem just started happening to me today. I got my phone yesterday, and am using the default email app on the phone. The odd thing, this wasn't happening yesterday, but it just started having this problem today. I'll send a reply email to someone, and it sends the same email to them twice, with the same time stamp. Doesn't look to good when emailing for business! Anyone know a fix for this, or should I just start using a different email app than the one that came installed on the phone?
