There is, though, something cool and worth paying full freight for. That new car smell. Having the latest/greatest when it's first available. Front row seats. Oh yeah, don't forget that warranty.

You get warranty on a used phone too. The warranty isn't voided just because the owner sells the phone. Let's assume you don't get a warranty though. You'll pay $200-300 more retail. I could replace the phone with another used one at least once for the price you're paying just for the warranty.

So how do you make a claim on phone you bought used that is still under the 1 year manufacturer warranty? I have taken a phone like that to Verizon and they said they can't do anything for me because it was not purchased through them. You have to send it off to an HTC dealer or whatever brand you bought?

If the Inc 4G is selling for $499.99 and your saying you pay $200-$300 to much paying that price. I'll be the first in line to buy one between $199 - $299:).. How long will I have to wait?

Wait a couple of months and you'll have no problems getting that price.

Also, for the record, I'm not a device junkie, I'm a tablet junkie. I've only had three phones in the past 2.5 years or so and one of those was a two week dalliance with a Rezound that I ended up scrapping. I've had more tablets than I can count in the past year or so though (at least half a dozen) and will probably end up with the new Nexus tablet if it's decent.

I'm not so sure. This assumes that there are people left that still plan to buy this phone. I am not so sure that is the case anymore. I think most have moved on... LOL..;) Well at least on this forum they have.

I'm about to pull the trigger on the S3. I waited as long as I could. I guess I'll catch HTC again in 2 years.

If we pool our efforts maybe we can work a bulk discount. I will be in a Verizon store on the 5th to see if it is the one. Who can guess what kind of deal they might offer to get me off of unlimited data. Might be a mind blower.

Oh I'm getting it too... just have to figure out how to finagle my way out of this monster samsung, keep my unlimited, not pay full price, get my NE2, use the coupon, not pay restocking fee and win megamillions...

so no problem.

:)

Yep.. I hear ya.. I plan to go check it out on the 5th and see what they say.

Okay, after talking with roughly 10 CSRs over the past week, and checking the forums at Verizon wireless, this is what I've got from them.

Anyone ordering/preordering a phone before the 28th, and accepting the terms & conditions before the 28th, keeps their current plan. (We already knew that)

You may exchange to another phone after the 28th if you're still inside the 14 day trial period and keep your unlimited/current plan. But if you preordered through online or Telesales (like I did) and want to exchange, you must go to a Verizon corporate store to do it (no third party or authorized resellers). I was thinking they'd send out the new one and I'd ship old one back in the box the new one came in (like with a warranty return). But for a new phone exchange, Telesales would need the old phone first to check it out, which would essentially be a return. That normally wouldn't be an issue, but it is with the whole 28th thing going on. But, if you take the old phone into the corporate Verizon store, they can inspect it, enter it into the system & exchange it in the same visit, and keep your unlimited data plan. This was confirmed by the CSR, her supervisor, and the manager at my nearest corporate store. So if you have preordered the SGS3 and written off being able to get the Inc4G, this is the way to do it. Since it is launching on July 5th and the SGS3's are shipping a few days later, there shouldn't be an issue exchanging since the Inc4G will be out before we'd receive our SGS3's.

If you receive the SGS3 (or any phone) and are thinking about exchanging it, you can also eliminate the $35 restocking fee. If the customer either refuses the shipment or doesn't open the retail box, the restocking fee can be rescinded. This is per the CSRs at *611. If you're planning to do an in store exchange, I was informed that they still have to charge the fee, but a CSR can refund it. So if you're planning to exchange your SGS3, don't open the retail packaging.

If one of the people on a Family Share plan upgrade with subsidized pricing, they will lose their unlimited data, but they won't kick everyone else on the plan to a Shared Data plan. The one upgrading will get a plan just like they currently would, a minute plan with or without text and tiered data at the pricing they currently have (2GB for $30). They may also bring back the double data promos once in awhile also. This is why they've been saying they won't be forcing people to Shared Data. Basically if you choose you can have a tiered plan like what's been available for the last year.

P.S. Going back to the exchanging phones after the 28th, I also have screenshots from the Verizon forums with a reply from someone with Verizon Wireless Customer Support (Twitter@VZWSupport) stating that "Our 14 day return/exchange period will allow you to keep the existing plan if you decide to exchange after the 28th of June. If you do upgrade after June 28th, then the line will migrate to tiered data. Thank you!" I would post it but am not sure how to post pics on here (did it once but forgot how to). It also has the support guy's name so I wasn't sure if that would be koscher to post it here.

All right! Incredible 4G LTE here I come! That S3 is going to stay in the box sealed, unless I hear bad things about the Incredible. Or maybe it needs to be used to be able to return it? Funny how we are preordering a phone now but won't get it until after this phone is out!

Oh nooooo.. and another one gone...

Today.. What are we going to do man... LOL

I'm still with you, guys! (As long as what vzwuser76 says holds true)

I'm unclear about this:

If I don't upgrade before today and I loose my unlimited plan, how much more will I be paying? I pay roughly 80-90 a month.

That's kinda hard to say without knowing the specifics of your plan. Like how many minutes, texting or no texting, & how much data you use on average a month. If you say have 450 minutes a month, unlimited texting, & use 2gb or less a month, it'd end up pricewise about a wash. You'd lose your unlimited data, but gain unlimited minutes. It depends on what you use more, voice calling or data. From what the CSR told me, the people who'll benefit from shared data plans are those who talk a lot & use little data, people who have things like mifi's or 3g/4g tablets that currently require a separate (and expensive) data plan, & of course, Verizon. But from what they said, if you are a single user, with only a smartphone, upgrading after the 28th would get you a plan similar to what a single user would get signing up on the 27th. A 450 min plan with unlimited text & 2gb of data would cost around the same as a share data plan with unlimited voice & text, & 2gb of data. But again, you lose your unlimited data. It all depends on what's important to you.

If you do upgrade say tonight to a phone other than an SGS3, you'd get it either Friday or Monday, and be able to exchange for an Inc4g in the 14 day period (we're right at 7 days till launch). But like I said before, you'd have to exchange it in store otherwise you'd lose unlimited. And also, make sure that whoever takes your order confirms the same things that were told to me & notes them on your account in case they try to backpedal later.

Thanks for the input...I don't browse the web or DL anything but if I do I use wifi. I text more then call. Yes I have the 450 min plan. So it seems like I won't suffer $$$.

I'm in for the long haul, been eligible for an upgrade since April when I got my OG Incredible. I have loved this phone & don't want Touchwiz. I'm not concerned about data usage, that's what my laptop & Thrive 32g are for. July FTW

That's the plan I have and don't use more than 2GB a cycle, but I don't know if i'd go over that with 4G. Part of the reason I don't browse much on 3G is because it's painfully slow sometimes, so I'll see how it goes in the next 2 years. If I still stay under 2GB then I'll have no problem giving unlimited up. Finally bit the bullet and preordered the S3. I hope the exchange works out as planned! If not, it's not the end of the world. I could always cancel the preorder if the Incredible ends up worth giving up unlimited, right?

I pulled the trigger on two sgIIIs. I'm on the 700 min family plan with both phone with unlimited data. We both really wanted the inc4g, but with the delay we wanted to get one last subsidized phone before the 28th. I went down to the local verizon store and ordered it. I confirmed with them I would keep my unlimited data. It wasnt till yesterday I realized it was just an authorized retailer (they only sell verizon and have a big verizon logo). With your plan, even though I am getting this through a authorized retailer, would I be able to take advantage of this? I dont mind restocking fees but bottom line, i want my unlimited and i would like the inc4g.

I'm not sure on that. When I called I was asking about my situation, having ordered it through Verizon's Telesales department. I would think that since you ordered the phones at the authorized retailer, that your exchange would go through them, but I can't say that with absolute certainty. To me that would be common sense, but with Verizon in the mix who knows.

My advice would be to call Verizon and explain your situation to them. You could relay my situation and see if you could go through your store or if you'd have to go to a corporate Verizon store. Or you could contact your authorized retailer where you ordered your phones, but they may not know what Verizon would do, since Verizon has the final say.

Worst case (and this is my plan B) you could sell the SGS3's and buy the Inc4G's retail. Depending on what you get for the Samsungs, you're final price would probably be in between the full retail & the subsidized price. That's my 2 cents, good luck.

I have not given up on this phone at all even though i ordered the s3.
the s3 is very impressive i must say.
the size in my hand will be the deciding factor kinda.. but its only 1/4 inch wider and taller then my current phone but screen is 1.1 inch bigger

i will wait on the reviews for the inc4g and see how well it does before i exchange/sell the s3.

also will have to see how touchwiz is for me. my one and only smartphone has been the commando so not familiar with that, blur or sense
