I'm guessing it was a pretty big box for promotional materials. 20-30 ounces would be a pretty small box of bound paper materials.

You make a good point about intercepting mail trucks. I remember there was something on the tech blogs where some delivery folks "outted" a new phone based on a box of promotional materials that "fell off the truck". I thought it was Verizon, and it was in the Fall. Wasn't the Droid, was it? Omnia II maybe?

And I can all but guarantee the absurd cost associated with that service was not used for every Verizon store. Not for phone promotional items at least...wouldn't make sense. Unless it's only one store, they would be shipping to every decent size city in the country with no couriers working. Like I said, it doesn't make sense. Maybe it was delivered Saturday.

T-Mobile had nothing regarding the N1 in stores. I would think promo materials for the N1 would come from Google, not HTC.

Would HTC send a package for Sunday delivery for a Google phone?

VZW probably has some type of contracted agreement with them already that fixes the cost if they use their service, or something similar.
 
If that is the promo stuff for the Incredible, VZW usually announced their stuff a week before it is out tops. So, 1-2 weeks for the Incredible possibly???

And Montana, just tell him that it's not like HTC will send an inspector to make sure he didn't open it. Open that sucker up!
 
FedEx Express is the official Verizon shipper though, so they could still have some kinda crazy side deals in place for something like this, but no way would it be every store. Just wouldn't have the manpower from FedEx side on a Sunday to make that happen. Those services aren't delivered by your everyday couriers, that's why I say that.
 
Let me put it another way too. We delivered the Droid promo stuff, which i'm pretty sure is a bigger launch than the incredible, and they were not delivered on a Sunday.
 
I just called the guy that delivers to one of our official Verizon stores in our area to see if he had anything on Saturday. I'll let you guys know what he said.

Thanks for the info.

As i haven't been in a Verizon Wireless store in years to browse, I guess my next question is about other phones' promo materials... like HTC non-android phones (if there ever were any) for Verizon. Were they printed on Red/Black stock?

Not to nitpick, but if I can keep getting reliable negatives to my questions, it narrows the possibilities closer to our grail-phone.

IF weather caused this package to be delayed from Saturday to Sunday, then the Fed-Ex here in NW Montana CAN and WILL deliver on a Sunday if need be. It's really not that unusual here. With HTC's $$$ pushing the package there's no doubt in my mind that they'd see that this gets done.
