Root Porting Jellybean to the Evo V 4G?

Cool. So I can say I had the most current version of android for less than a month. That's the way it goes I guess.

Why would 3D be borked? I mean... it doesn't seem radically different from what ICS is.

I'd say that our first stepping stone is a CM9/Senseless ROM. If we can get one of those fully functional, then we'd be in good shape to port Jelly Bean over to our phone.

But if I'm not mistaking, I think we are waiting on the Kernel Source from HTC to really get developing really in gear, and that's still a little ways away.

Sucks haha so I was NEVER current. Meh at 35 bucks a month I guess I shouldn't expect to be. Although I have to say for every android phone I've had there always seems to be an awesome dev that seems to work magic and do things that were not expected to happen on these phones. And if I may ask what is the deference between the version we currently have and the one you want?

not to sure off hand of the exact changes..nothing real major..most current aosp roms are all updated to 4.04 ..small fixes and under the hood changes from version to version..cant believe all this jelly bean news..

Why would you put a knight prerelase version on your phone which definitely will not have all the features and might not even be possible without the source from htc...,

Sigh I need to start putting my dev skills to use and actually learn android so I can answer these questions with more certainty

I know I'm not a developer but I do have a YouTube account so maybe I can do the YouTube videos for these Jellybean roms since no one else even has a video on rooting yet. I'm still deciding if I want to root so this isn't a definite but I'd like to contribute to helping this rom some how so that's probably all I can do. If you want to see my YouTube videos my username is MotorolaTriumphUser

There won't he a Jellybean ROM until sources are released, for both the Evo V, and for Jellybean itself. You can't build a stable ROM without sources. SDK Ports are ALWAYS horrible. I'm sure it'll come with time, but like Leslie said, there will most likely never be 3D. It's not a standard Android feature, it's a sense feature. Jellybean sources will be released mid-July. A ROM will come when it comes, just hold your horses.

People need to learn to be patient and appreciate what they have. I'm on a pre-paid plan with a 3D phone running ICS, something many people don't have the luxury of owning or using. If you really want JB, start handling on the development yourself. : ) If you can't... then don't bug no one else about it. It will happen when it happens. Till then, enjoy that ice cream sandwich before it melts, for it's summertime!

I can wait. I'm just curious if anyone was working on it. There's no harm in finding out info if it hasn't been asked.
