Possibility of a homemade back cover?

Does anyone here think it would be possible (or more importantly, a good idea?) to make a new cover for a gnex thats not super slippery like the original?

If anybody has any experience with molding silicone rubber/plastics and stuff @ home, it would be appreciated if you could point me in the right direction (what stuff to use, how to cast it, will it even work? those small tabs don't convey a lot of confidence on anything that's not real solid...).

I'm planning on re-obtaining a gnex (i traded to a razr) and my main problems with it were battery life but the straw that broke the camels back was how greasy the thing made my hands feel...

Also, would it be easy to put writing on there? like instead of verizon and samsung on the normal cover, I could put like, google and my name or a little android or something?

That would be cool! Unless you know someone in the plastics molding business I would think this would be fairly difficult to do. Have you researched it on the web at all?

I will look into it more, it seems fairly easy to do, pour some molding agent around the original back cover, the carve the hyper skin (little bumps on the back of the nexus) out of the mold except in places where you wanted text or graphics, then put some melted plastic in there, sand off the rough edges. Voila.

What would be difficult but awesome to do, would be to machine one out of like aluminum.

just spray some spray rubber on the back and sand it down

good redneck fix, IMO

Seems legit...
