Is Verizon doing any pre-show stuff today? Because that would be great.....

I dunno, apparently they already annouced a txt slider (from lg) and a smartphone (from lg). The PA article said it was at CTIA, so I would assume yes? I dunno if it was "official" that they were doing pre-show stuff or not tho.

wow last thing i do before i sleep is read his threaad.
first thing i do when i wake up is read this thread.
if i didnt have work to pay for the incredible, i'd probably be reading this thread all day.
Hope theres some info in the next couple of days so i feel like i have something i'm working for :D

my eyes and brain still haven't completely woken up, so I apologize if this was posted and I overlooked it.

In our discussions about the embargoed HTC device, was anyone able to discover a date in which the embargo is lifted? I would imagine it would have to be by the date of the award, and for some reason I thought tomorrow was mentioned but not sure?

That was an LG pre-show thing.

Is that what you're talking about?

Thanks, Kappy. Close...but with online voting by the public, that's why I was wondering when HTC would lift the embargo on their device. The award is Wednesday, but how many people besides us would vote for an embargoed device that they "know nothing" about?

Secondly...who gets a shipment on a Sunday? I want to believe...but having a tough time. You sure it's not promo materials for the Eris deals happening now?

From the FedEx website:
Does FedEx offer weekend delivery?Yes. Saturday delivery is available with FedEx Priority Overnight (tender your shipment on a Friday) and FedEx 2-Day (tender your shipment on a Thursday) in the majority of US cities. An additional fee applies. For Sunday delivery, we offer FedEx SameDay within the US and FedEx International Next Flight for international deliveries. Call 1.800.GoFedEx 1.800.463.3339 to request.

You guys ready for the longest day of the year? It is going to feel like a week between today and tomorrow.

Edit: I was just thinking we may get an unofficial announcement today. I am sure there is someone who works at a Verizon store who doesn't care too much about their job and maybe just maybe they will open a similar box like Montana described and take a few pics.

Good Morning All,

I just went and checked my VZW overview and clicked on upgrade to a new phone... All of the HTC Phones (except the TP2 and Eris) have removed all the promotion credits and my NE2 credits. It only shows the price I can get them at...ie "your price"

Something good is coming.....I can feel it!!!

I feel your pain. I'm on my fith Storm and I need to get it replaced.

My wife is on her 8th Storm either the port burns out or the screen craps out, it's amazing, but VZW has replaced it no questions asked every time, as if they know it's a huge piece of junk.

You can't do that yet. Google Voice as of now uses a normal phone connection for the actual call. You could drop texting and use Google Voice for that because Voice texting uses the data channel. Voice still uses POTS for most call routing.

Google acquired Gizmo5, essentially the only competitor to Skype. Google is eventually going to add the capability to make calls through Google Voice using only data and probably either add the support to GTalk or a VoIP only desktop client using their acquisition. If Google allows free Voice sign-ups in the future, there is very little reason to still use Skype other than the existing user base.

Time-wise I foresee a November release for VoIP Google Voice since the GrandCentral to Google Voice change took about that long.
I was suffering from lack of sleep and ingesting too many bad blogs when I posted that... For some reason I was thinking Goggle Voice was a full-blown VOIP app, but I thought I caught myself in time and edited the post. :) Thanks for the info, I'm pretty stoked to start sticking it to Verizon for once.

Lol.... I'll tell you what - if CTIA comes and goes with no announcement of our long-awaited Incredible, and your guys' remaining sanity hinges on my getting pictures of a cardboard box from HTC with "DO NOT OPEN" tape and stickers plastered all over it, then consider it done! In ANY event, I would expect this thing to be ok'd to open by 3/27 at the latest, as that's less than a week away. Just my $.02, there. Otherwise, why a Sunday delivery if you have another Sunday (3/28) to get it there under the radar???

Like this? :D
