Did anyone happen to notice on the Amazing Race last night, the first commercial started 1 or 2 minutes into the show was for the iPhone? The opening line for the ad was "It's kind of INCREDIBLE"!
Even Apple is big on the Incredible!!

If anything, they were just trying to steal the spotlight. They definitely are not fond of Google, Android, or HTC for that matter.

No that's an eris, it's codename was desire.

I thought that too, but i'm glad i didn't react too quickly without checking the link...it's unrelated to the reports earlier about the Eris goof-up.

The award announcement will come well after the embargo is lifted. I suspect we will see something like this sequence;
- Embargo lifted, announcement made, lots of detailed info and reviews posted.
- Confirmation that the HTC Inc [or newname] is an award candidate
- Announcement that HTC Inc [or newname] wins the CTIA smartphone of the year
- Annoucement that Steve HandJobs has suffered an ego infarction and is receiving emergency treatment
