ICS Update Question.

Having read some of the issues regarding the ICS update that people have had, I was wondering if this (as it seems) is only restricted to phones bought in India?

I'm thinking of downloading the update but have reservations after reading what I've read and also after the Froyo update on my Dell Streak (many moons ago) pretty much killed the phone. Thankfully the phone was replaced free of charge by Dell/O2...

Has anyone in the UK (with a UK phone) had any problems with ICS?

I think the issues are fairly random. Many of the battery/responsiveness issues will be to do with what apps are installed. Region probably has little to do with it.

I applied the update as soon as it came out and the only issue I found was that some apps started crashing a fair bit. Once those apps had received updates then things settled down. I still get massive pauses now and then but again it is restricted to a couple of apps so I would lay the blame there.

My phone has nothing but problems, and I think most of them are related to the "bloatware" that comes stock on the phone. ICS allowed me to disable most of the offending apps. My phone no longer freezes.

In light of that, I would say that ICS helped a lot.

I use my phone with Singtel, and TMobil. I have the German N7000.

OK, good point, though I didn't have much in the way of battery or performance problems I was saying "why is this now doing..." a lot

Why is this now beeping at me when I get mails to my gmail even though I turned off syncing ages ago?

Why do I now get notifications that someone had jam on their toast instead of marmalade from facebook when I didn't install an app?

Overall though I am pleased with the update.

Hahahahahaha

My phone has been going for about 6 hours today. I have 88% battery remaining.

I travel a lot, so I purchased three extra batteries, an external charger, and a solar charger.
