So I just recently purchased a Micro HDMI cable to attact my phone to my tv, yet the port does not fit in my phone...I thought our phone supported this feature. Any help would be great to guide me in the right direction. Thanks!

you need a "mhl adapter" to use hdmi with the nexus, not a micro hdmi cable.

bingo! MHL adapter is needed.
Micro HDMI was on the Droid X, if you had one of those...
