Help How to disable data but use phone?

I'm going out of the country and want to make sure I don't use data, but want to be able to make/receive phone calls if necessary. How?

In Settings, under Data Usage, you can turn Data off. That should still let you make calls and texts.

You can't make/receive phone calls if you do that.

If your rooted you can use an app named Droid Wall.

This app has a widget that will let you switch on "just a phone" mode. So only phone calls and texts will work.

Make sure Data Roaming is unchecked under Mobile Network Settings.
That should be sufficient - it's always worked for me on a stock GSM phone outside the UK
