What would it look like if you got the white one but ordered a blue battery cover? or vice versa? :captain:

Neitheir , JellyBean 4.2 cancelled my want for a Galaxy S3

What is Samsung gonna do with S Voice now that Google Now is available in JellyBean? Will they upgrade to JellyBean and still keep S Voice?

Nitpick: Jelly Bean is 4.1, not 4.2.

What will Samsung do? I'm not sure they know yet, so we can only guess. I suspect s-voice isn't going anywhere. At best we can only hope we'll get both. Again, just my prediction.

So, here is where I usually get on people who get mad when they don't get an update to the next os when they were never promised it. Now im in that situation. Ordered the s3 and while waiting delivery, a new os came out. What to do? You should ne happy with the phone when you bought it. If not, you shouldn't have bought it. Suddenly you great phone sucks for some reason and the manufacturers suck for not upgrading you. I would suspect an upgrade for the S3, but wont kill anyone if it doesn't. If you are troubled about it not getting an update to jelly, and Sammy didn't promise, don't buy it. Maybe the DROID fighter/GD will.
Good job canceling your order. Nothing wrong with that. Perhaps sammy will do a press release to say it's coming to keep potential buyers from jumping ship. Ill play with mine for 14the days and make the secession to keep the S3 or return for the DROID if its announced. Id guess no anoucement will be made till the majority of the S3 are past the return deadline.

Agree with your point about being happy with what you bought. The Nexus devices are a slightly different scenario since upgradeability is a big selling point for them, but in general one shouldn't buy a device for what it could be one day. If it's not good enough at the time of purchase then don't assume it will get updates to make it good enough.

On the other hand, the S III will get Jelly Bean. I have no doubt it will happen. I seem to even recall an article saying Samsung are planning a late 2012 rollout for it.

I really like the blue. Depending on the light, it can go look anything from dark black to a cerulean blue to a royal purple. Obviously it's not for everyone, but I think it's awesome.

I've been waffling for a while on the color, but had an epiphany today and am very glad I ordered the blue!

Seems like a personality difference between white and blue. Most comments seem to be white phone owners post more and voice their dislike of blue. However, there are more people buying blue but there are lessblue owners posting about their dislike of white. Im not going to go back and count though. Just a perception. There isn't much of a difference to me, but some have some seriously hate towards the blue vice the white where its just don't care for it.

Personally I'm going with white...if I feel the need to switch it up then I'll just slap on a black case :)

I was in camp white until I spent an hour with both on the store. There simply isn't another phone out there that does the blue/purple/slate transition the blurple color does. And if anyone tells you there's no purple tint, well, take that with a grain or thousand grains of salt. Personally I love the color.

Many have said "just put a case on it" but the fact is if you go with a slim or minimalist cover like I will there will be plenty of the color visible on the face. The blurple is pretty amazing IMO.

i'm gonna get the blue one cause the iphone comes in white and i don't want anyone to think i'm an iwhore. :)

My general thoughts have always been this: Both phones look great. The only thing I didn't like (and it's VERY minor) about the blue is how the button doesn't blend in like the button on the white phone. This is after using both phones in person for quite some time. When I went to the white phone after using the blue, I immediately appreciated the blending improvement and how the button didn't stand out, and that button standing out was always the first thing I noticed when going back to the blue phone.

However, both phones look very sleek and professional. Despite the blue texture being entirely fake, it still looks good and feels solid. Both phones are still plastic. Neither feel like the HTC One series. But I wouldn't be embarrassed with either phone. They both look great and work great! I just prefer the white, mainly for the button blend. I'd be happy with both colors! :D

If anyone's looking for more 'real world' photos of the Pebble Blue GS3, I took a few today in various lighting conditions. It does seem to change a lot depending on how the light hits it. I was worried I wouldn't like the nearly purple trim but I don't find it too bad in person. I do wish the home button matched the rest of the front better but once I turn the screen on I forget all about it. :)

Enjoy. The picture with two phones shows a height comparison with a Samsung Captivate.

I actually really like the brushed metal look of the blue. A lot. However I'm going to have a case on it that will cover most of it up. So I'm thinking about white instead as it'll be easier for to match a case color and I like the contrast. I'm undecided at this point.

Has the "glare" concern over white been an issue for anybody? How does it do in the sun?

I thought I would get the blue as well but after seeing them in the store I went with white. I also picked up a white silicone case for it but that was too much. I went back the next day and got exchanged it for the blue silicone case. White phone w/ blue case. I'm really liking it now.

Maybe it was the lighting but the front looked black in the two videos I've watched.

You really need to see it in person to decide for yourself. The color changes based on lighting and angle. Sometimes it looks like a gunmetal blue. Sometimes it looks almost black. Sometimes it's very purple. Sometimes it's almost an electric blue.

For me it was a love/hate relationship with the blue. So I returned it for a white one and couldn't be happier (unless they offered black).

I went with the white and pretty much decided that before I ever saw the phones live. I never had a white phone, and to be fair never really cared for one. But I saw a white case for my Bionic that I really liked, then was slightly enamored with the white S2 (I think it was the chrome highlights). Then when I got the S3s in my hand, I wasn't very keen on the blue, but I must admit I do like that brushed metalish look.

However, if I was on AT&T, I'd probably have gone with the garnet just because of how diff it is.

personally i dont think there is a comparison...Blue is eleventy billion times better than the iGalaxy in white...

oh and if you see them side by side with an LED notification going...the amount of "bleeding" that goes on with the white phone is terrible IMO...

Apple are bad enough patent trolls, let's not let them start patenting the color white. :p

The "bleeding" you mention is true, though. Not a hard limit for me, but quite noticeable.

I went with the blue, my sister went with white. I was debating white because of the versatility with cases (as most people have stated). But it's not like I like very many colors. The blue looks good with black, grey, white or purple. I'm not into the pinks and warmer toned colors. I can see how some shades of blue would look awful with it. I bought a purple case, still waiting to see how nice it'll look (probably pretty nice). I had a little blue Exhibit II and had a transparent purple TPU case. I liked how it looked.
I also liked the "brushed metal" look. It makes it different. White is just white. If it was pearlescent or something, maybe I would have gotten white.
I almost regretted my decision after looking at cases, but after a few days with it in it's naked state, I think I made the right decision.

Thanks for that flapjacky, I was undecided as I'd originally pre ordered the blue but changed to white because of the problems with the blue.
My son is upgrading now to an S3, and said he'd get the blue one and do a swap if I still wanted the blue, think I'll take him up on his offer :)

I don't hate either color of the phone. But I chose white because I thought it would be a good look with a black Incipio case I got.

Honestly I thought a lot more people would be getting the blue. I wanted to have the not so popular color. Plus I have always wanted a white device. I backed out of the white ipad 3, so whatever. :)
