Up by $100?

I was really thinking of getting the myTouch, but now they've raised the price another 100 dollars. $500 dollars for a phone is pushing it.

Sure it's the same with the service, but they don't cover anywhere near where I live, so it's useless.

Anyone know why they raised it?

I hadn't heard that they had raised it. Did you ask them?

From what I can see the public site doesn't list it yet for new customers.

For a long time customer it is 199.99 for a short time customer upgrading is 399.99.

What did you find?

I do see the retail price..but instant discount is...

Suggested retail $499.99
Instant discount -$300.00
$199.99

Which is pretty good right?

I just got mine from Best Buy for $189.99 + a $10 dollar gift certificate with a 2 year contract.

I love how no one seems to understand that he doesn't want it on contract..

I love how he didn't state that in his original post.

The phone was released and is being sold by T-Mobile @:

499.99 w/o contract
399.99 w/1yr contract
199.99 w/2yr contract

So, I don't know why he thought it was 399.99 w/o a contract if that is, in fact, what he means.

Well said that he doesn't get service where he lives and the said "so it's useless". I assumed that meant that a plan would be useless.

If you look at my post, it says they have no coverage in my area, so buying the contract is just a waste of money.

I think I've found the reason. Since it released, the tmobile mytouch official website had a typo.

It had originally stated it as being
$399
-$200
$199

When it should have been $499. They must have recently fixed it.

Writting one-o-one: Write what you mean... don't make your readers work at it. Your post is not very clear until you followed up.

Anyway, the phone was released @ the same price point as the G1.

I just got one for 100.00. I actually upgraded to it. It posted on T-Mobile site. Price of phone with 2 year contract is 199.00 -100 =99.00 plus tax. Had a time getting them to upgrade at that price but just called until I got a rep that would do it. Something to do with oprah show-first 10,000 people get it at that price.
