My take is you use an iPhone and you have no interest in the Supersonic. Everything you're saying is so hypothetical and anti-Sprint. Sorry, but I (we) would much rather stay focused on the Supersonic than to listen to this nonsense, after all, this is the Supersonic forum.

as the matter of fact, I had HTC diamond and now own HTC Pro 2 running WM 6.1/6.5. I never have iphone and never own apple products yet.

Android is my next phone.

So who's staying up beyond midnight to see if Sprint posts anything online? Any west coasters?

What do you think the best site to monitor is? I would think Engadget, but maybe here at this thread, or sprint's official site? If it's official info, obviously it will be at sprint's site, but if there's a major leak, I'm not sure where to see it first. Any advice?

Zaaye, I'm sorry, I was just a little worked up by that foxnews guy and I shouldn't have let him get to me. By the same token, we have a good thread here with a lot of excitement brewing and I thought he was out of place. Different views are good, but he was intentionally trying to bring the mood down. If you don't want the Supersonic and you don't like Sprint, don't bother coming here and spouting off like that. This forum belongs to everyone, but when someone talks like that, I'm going to call them out on it. (Yeah, I'm getting feisty in my old age).

I've never been in an iPhone forum, but if I ever did go into one, I wouldn't run down their phone and brag about the Supersonic. I wouldn't run down Verizon either. A lot of people really like their service, but I think Sprint's going to whip their tail for awhile. Guess I should include AT&T since they have the iPhone. I don't have anything against them either. Heck, they have the fastest 3G network on the planet and they have a map for that.

LTE and a Verizon 4G phone are a long way off, but people keep talking about LTE as if it were something. Right now it doesn't even exist here in the US.

Sprint is showing a commercial where an iPhone is running on their little Overdrive Hub, if you can believe that. The multi-mode seems to be on other people's minds too, but I don't think we should dwell on it. Just know that they're working on it already and there will be alternatives down the road to address the problem.

Here's an article that appeared on BGR you might want to check out: Beceem announces a new WiMAX/LTE multi-mode chipset

Sorry again, Zaaye. I just noticed you already posted this link.

I'm sorry. I did not know my opinion was that offensive and personal to you. I did not mean that way. I have been with Sprint from the first day I got a cell phone. No plan to leave them yet. In my last posts, I never praise the iphone.

You bet!!! They better not come in here and screw with us.

they?

I'm a long-time sprint customes and long-time WM phone users. I fit well with this Android club.

WOW, you gotta love the potential for more info tomorrow.

As for the keynote on Wednesday and the line on the sprint website. It may all be scheduled to come out on Wednesday, but one of the "perks" of being a premier member is supposed to be early info on new devices and plans. Maybe that is their way of trying to give some of us "advance" info?

On a side note, I know a lady that sells 4g "stuff" for some nationwide company. She claims that she had info about some new exciting phones that would be coming out soon? She said she called Sprint just to see what they would tell her and they said no devices would come out until Fall. SHe then said she knows for a fact that there would be a 4G device coming out very soon. I mentioned the Supersonic and she said there were a few exciting devices that would be out before Fall? Not sure she really has a clue but it was interesting still, as she said they deal with Spring products too. She said less than 30 days.

Have you all seen some of the newest videos on youtube showing android 2.1 with sense demoed on the HTC Desire? I'm really excited that HTC has overhauled the media player, which has always been a major criticism of android in the past. I think it's now on par with the iphone, with a coverflow style and good integration with the rest of the system when using other programs or being locked. I've always used winmo with A_C's S2Play and have been very happy with it, but it will be a major upgrade going to the SS with htc's programs integrated.

Someone posted not having an upgrade on their phone but did have one on another line in the family. Last Fall I was seriously considering switching to the iPhone, but I HATE ATT. I called and inquired about getting to use my wifes upgrade but being able to get the HERO for me right away for full price. After getting the standard policy, I mentioned changing, got retention, got a hero on my wifes upgrade at the upgrade price, and got her a discounted blackberry also. I payed more to sprint monthly as i had to upgrade plan so they still won.

But the best deal, my original upgrade was due in March, they never took that upgrade off so I now have an upgrade and even if i didnt use it, as a premier member I would have another one in November again. I know we want to keep this about the SS but I just had to brag on CS since they took great care of me. ONe thing about it, I never raised my voice, I never argued, I just simply explained my case and they did everything they could to keep me.

Everything you've said here sounds good, foxnews. Possible I owe you and everyone else here an apology. I have no fight with you and if you're for Android and plan on staying with Sprint, maybe you will warm up to the Supersonic.

I'm the one that started this thread and would like to see it stay on-track and on-topic. Sorry if I come off like a thug, I'm really not like that. I'm mostly concerned with keeping the excitement going and building a positive environment for everyone that wants to learn more and ask questions about the Supersonic.

The new WiMAX 4G Supersonic will become highly sought after, because of the power it holds. One of my contacts, from the Sprint forum said a lot of government agencies and law enforcement agencies want this phone, because of the potential has to offer.

It looks to me like the Supersonic is going to be released real soon and we only have to wait until tomorrow to learn more. I think by Wednesday, all of our questions will be answered.

If any of you want to get into the merits of Sprint, like you have foxnews, I started the HTC Supersonic Discussion Group where you can talk about this to your hearts content. Everyone is welcome to join you there. On the home page of this thread is a link to the discussion group, to make it easy to get back to.

Since this is the Supersonic Forum, I would like to stay on-topic as much as possible and I hope you help us do that. Other forums have been closed for getting off-topic and I really don't want that to happen here.

Thank you foxnews and everyone else that comes here. I appreciate the input from each and everyone of you.

Sincerely,

Bill

Just a guess, but I would tend to think that Sprint's website would be the last to get updated. Reason I believe that is that over here on Android Forums, and also Engadget (who do live blogging from major events), the information would be uploaded faster than through an official corporate channel.

Is it really realistic to expect information at midnight? I'm going to be going to bed tonight but I'll leave my phone on so one of you guys can call me and wake me up if anything gets announced. ;D

As a premier member, and I am guessing even if you are not, you can sign up with your email to get Sprint news. On the premier site at least it says to sign up to get updates as they become available, so I have signed up for that. No guarantee it will be any sooner than anything else, but if I get anything I will post asap. From the number of posts today, I think this site will be as good as any to get news asap. You guys have been on top of everything so far!

Anyone here live in a "singal strength varies" sprint area? Will I still be able to get this phone online with a new sprint contract?

Good point, stay on the topic. sorry for lessening your exitement. I really like Supersonic/android but am a little worried for Wimax/Sprint, which I used to be very exiting about.

Glad that we understand each other. let's focus on Supersonic.
