Can i flash stock ICS ROM on GB?

I just rooted my galaxy s2 and i want to flash cyanogenmod 9. The thing is i have gingerbread 2.3.5 and since my mobile is sim free and i reside in UAE, no update is available. Anyway i read all the guides and none mentioned if i can flash a stock ics rom or any other rom on a rooted gingerbread. Any link or explanation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would recommend flashing a stock ICS ROM, say OJV for Bahrain, first, via Odin, before flashing CM9, see here.

You will lose root but it is very easy, as you have done it already, to re-root on ICS by following this guide, here.
