Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I'm thinking of going to Barnes&Noble, buying a book and just sitting there all day to stay out of the heat.

Good call! I'm dreading going outside. Any books you want to recommend? Been ages since I've really read anything.
Wife is headed out to give her grandma a driving tour of the city. I'll be staying in the ac here!

If you are into spy novels you could read Robert Liddell's "The Company." It will take more than one day to make it through though.

896 pages!
Ugh, I'm still way behind in the Steve Jobs bio, which has been great so far. Maybe I'll pick it back up. Been having a lot of problems with the Kindle. Keep having to reset it.

Depends on what you like. There is one out now called Agent Garbo. This guy was a poultry farmer who became a secret agent and tricked the Third Reich into thinking that the D-Day invasion of Normandy was a feint and the real attack was aimed at Calais. -true story

If you like Star Wars you could always start the on the Star Wars universe. :)

Maybe the Hunger Games series?

The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. Love it. 11/22/63 seems good. Cell. The Dome. -all S. King

I read a lot of everything. Some I won't mention on here. This isn't the place.

Worth every page, I have read that book about a dozen times and each time I figure something else out. It is one of my favorite books ever.

Honestly, last great book I read was Omnivores Dilemma. I really like non-fiction and anything that involves food. Found one on Amazon that looks good. Since I can't get the Kindle fired up right, I guess I'll give reading on the Flyer a shot. Really hoping that the N7 is much lighter as the Flyer sometimes just feels like a tank.

My wife loves reading on the Kindle Fire and I find it easy to hold, so the Nexus 7 (half a pound lighter with contoured back) should be very comfortable.

Yeah, my folks love their KF I got em for Xmas. Haven't handled it much outside of a little bit at Best Buy, but it seems nice. Hoping the N7 handles at least as well (glad it has the rounded/contoured sides too).

Just worry about selling the customer the right phone, you'll be fine. For some folks the iPhone is right. I haven't met one yet, but they must be out there.:D

You should meet my husband...he's most definitely one of those folks. He's been hosed down with technology repellent, so the iPhone is the only smartphone he can handle. :)

I am downloading 2.4 now, thanks for the link Chief. I'm not sure I will flash it though as like Anti, I am waiting for aosp roms (plus, having 2 Neus 7's in the pipeline doesn't hurt either).

To be honest I'm not totally inthralled with JB yet and I miss my AOKP tweaks. Just flashed 2.4 and will keep playing with it. If I could find a Jelly Bean for Dummies and find out more of the features?

I don't see the big speed bump everyone is talking about. Maybe if I went back to ICS I would see the difference.

Make sure you're doing proper cache cleaning. I'm definitely seeing the speed bump (without being OC'd). Google Now is also just pure awesome. :D
I desperately miss my search button though and will get through until AOSP hits (and hopefully AOKP picking it up soon thereafter).

cleaned both cache before and after flash just to be sure. Just flashed 2.4, proper Gapps and Imo kernal so we'll see.

Based on those suggestions, you and I read the same books :)

Well I've only been here for about a week, and I haven't posted too much. I probably should've introduced myself, but forgot too.

That's OK. Welcome to Android Forums and to the Galaxy Nexus Watering hole. We are all friends here so make yourself at home.:)

As Unforgiven said, Welcome! :D
I see you have listed the N7 as devices. Assuming you've pre-ordered already? I have as well, really looking forward to it. :)

Thanks! Well there's a question mark next to it, so it's still up in the air.

Thanks! You guys seem like a great crowd!

I know a lot of folks are having trouble grappling with the storage limitations (not sure if it's your issue or not). But, for me, it's no problem. I stream virtually all my media so it's not a big deal for me. I pre-ordered the 8Gb seeing as it's plenty for me. :)
Be sure to head on over to the N7 forum as it's hopping with excitement!

I'm into things like the Hunger Games so I'm always up for new suggestions. My family says I like my books 'dark & dirty' :D
