Newb- not just to Warp, but to smartphones

Ok, so I'm finally upgrading from my dumbphone to a smartphone (Warp). It arrives today in the mail! YAY!

But that being said....I look to you guys to let me in on the know for Apps or other. Whats good? Whats bad?

Help me get started the right way! :)

Thanks guys!

out of the box the phone is set up fairly well for a newb, just get used to browsing the web, using voice commands, email, texting etc...

after that, there are a few apps I highly recommend:

swiftkey 3 (costs a few bucks, but WORTH EVERY PENNY, it's a keyboard replacement app that works much better than the out of the box one and will save you a ton of time typing on the touchscreen)

titanium backup (free version or pro version to backup your data/apps in case you have to reset your phone)

boat browser (free browser app replacement)

go launcher (free launcher replacement)

If you are feeling adventurous I would highly recommend rooting your phone and going to a custom ROM, my own personal favorite is the n00b ROM that I put together, but there are many good ROMS available for this phone and tons of people willing to help you root/install a ROM (look up n0ve sometime, he is very capable and loves to help people root/configure their phones).

Just to let you know titanium backup is ROOT ONLY!

Thanks for the replys guys. I dont plan on rooting my phone unless I get severe restart problems of the like that have been posted...so far so good. but it is only 3 days old.

Ive gotten a bit app crazy but i did get go launcher/locker...like em

Swiftkey i like...and dislike....i tend to slide my finger away after pushing a key thus changing it >.< i guess ill get used to it.

using Dolphin browser but havnt played with it yet...ill try boat also.

And is free titanium worth it? or would i have to buy premium? I see there is a Go Backup thats popular and free...any good?

Titanium is meant for root users only... it won't work without roor

Honestly I'm glad I rooted the phone. I didn't have any issues beforehand... but I like customizing the hell out of my devices.

got a question...before I new to use WiFi i was just on my 3G....ive only had the phone a week so im not too worried but is there a place on boost that I can check how much Data ive used this month?

I got some apps now but they only work on a realtime basis so havnt tracked since day 1.

Oh, and Im trying Onavo Count...and Watchdog...opinions?

I believe that you can go onto their website and login to your account... from there I know you can view you call log and history... idk about data usage but you can check
