I'm hoping the site is down to add a couple of ads for the Incredible, but every time I go to their site, I get the popup asking if I want a tour of the new site, so I'm thinking they are getting that up and running.

Who knows, maybe it is both!

Hey guys. New member, first post. Just wanted to say thanks for this thread and all the info it contains. Like most of you in this thread, I'm pretty excited about this phone.

Assuming the price isn't $300+ I will be purchasing on release day. I'm hoping for a $200 price point, like most in this thread. I'm all about the latest and greatest as much as the next enthusiast, but I'm not sure this would be worth over twice the price of the Droid.
 
We should use this time and think of who to blame if the incredible doesn't get announced. Verizon or HTC?! I am starting to feel angry already:mad:

but also keep in mind that the N1 is supposed to release soon from Verizon...so that could be the reason the site is down also.

I also don't foresee an embargoed device up for an award being one that is not even released for another quarter.

you can find the whole schedule at CTIA's website. looks like there are some key events starting after 2 this afternoon.

Google will be selling the N1 online only. They will not sell it in stores and place it in competition with their new flagship android device - the incredible.

Yes and it all started with that picture he took with his Droid........of the Las Vegas strip. I am surprised more people did not catch that last night. I had to PM him about it (suspended) but hopefully my resurrection is a sign of INCREDIBLE (sorry) things to come.

If not then I could be looking at the N1 again or the Supersonic based on release date. The whole silent treatment VZW is giving us is ridiculous.

Let me explain the logic behind it to you. We know for sure HTC is releasing one phone, the embargoed one. We know that the Super Sonic is an HTC phone. We know that sprint has basically confirmed it is coming out today. Chances are the embargoed phone is the HTC Super Sonic because it being the first 4G phone in the USA is a big deal and you bet HTC would enter that phone in the contest.

I am not saying incredible won't be announced I am just saying this info kills some of the only facts we were banking on supporting an Incredible announcement today.

FYI....the most important tidbit of info you will find is that I am back. Everything else is just noise :cool:

Anyone have the official Twitter pages for HTC and CTIA? Anyone recommend a blog that is updating info they gather from the event?

Given the the specs of the Super Sonic and it being the first 4.3" device running Android and first 4-G phone HTC has put out, there's a good possibility it will be the "buzz" of the event phone-wise and will steal any thunder the Incredible could have hoped to have had. If anything Verizon should have beaten Sprint to the punch, as I'm thinking most members of the media will look at the Incredible as being anti-climactic in comparison.

I thought I saw some commercials awhile back but looked on Youtube, they just advertise 4g network during the Pre commercials.

@htc is the official HTC twitter page and I'd go with searching for #CTIA for any CTIA info...albeit you'll get lots of other stuff besides Android phones. The two CTIA pages I saw weren't useful.

Well, I have been following this thread for a while and I check all the other major sites out and everything was pointing to an announcement from HTC about a new phone. Now we have confirmation it is the SS. On top of that VZW has no scheduled announcements except for Skype.

So, from that information I concluded that no Incredible announcement at CTIA.

Trust me I hope I am wrong! :D
