Help do I need to restore to factory defaults

In the past week two apps (Morningstar and Scramble) no longer launch. I've tried closing pretty much every running app that may be causing the problem and still nothing. I even uninstalled Avast which I've had for months with no issue.

Does it sound like I need to wipe out my phone and start over from scratch? I never unlocked it or rooted it. Is restoring factory image a simple process to do? Can anyone direct me to the step by step instructions?

restoring the image is a somewhat simple process, however your issues are not that you need to wipe data, apps that do not load may be the cause of anything, an update to the app, or the operating system to the phone, i would reinstall morning star, go to the applications menu and find the morning star app, and delete the data / cache, and force stop the app then try again.

I've tried all of this. Is there any way to create an event log so that I can see what is actually happening when I try to launch the Morningstar app? When I try to launch the app it flickers briefly then vanishes. It does not even give an error message. It also does not appear in my list of running apps so I can't even do a force stop. I just don't get it...it worked until about two weeks ago.
