Root Is it possible to change the carrier name?

If your talking about in the notification tray you can make it say whatever you want with leedroid tweaks

Just flash leedroid tweaks or use a rom that has it built in like harmonia.

I personally did this my self just to give my phone a more professional look and there's already Sprint branding on it anyway so why not?

Store bought or ordered? Mine is virgin branded on the back plate. You can buy replacement plates without it for under $10 but who really cares. It blows peoples mind when I tell them how much I pay. More people switch, better phones for us

Mine has Sprint branding from the original RS pre order. The replacement battery cover without the Virgin brand on it are actually the Sprint cover. Plus with the blank battery cover you can have a black ops /stealth phone. ;-)
 
With LeeDroid tweaks you can change the carrier name on both the notification bar and the lock screen.
 
could someone make a framework res file that I could flash, that's what I have done with all of my phones before and I'm using the stock rom. I would do it myself but my only computer is linux...

Mine says "aim here"; it has the immensely bright red ring around the camera. I could do without that.

I bought two at BBY two days ago; the back one is VM labelled on the back; the plum one for the wife is Sprint labelled on the front. Odd.

I know that there are other versions available, the European GSM variant has a gold ring instead.
