How not to miss many phone calls?

Hi, I used to use a dumb phone and an iPodTouch. I put the dumb phone in my pocket and the iPodTouch in the PC bag. I connected the earphone to the iPodTouch all the time.

Since I bought the Note a month ago, I only need to carry one device. However, due to the Note's size and I do not want to put it in a pocket with another item to avoid scratching the device, I always put the Note in my computer bag. Just like before, I connect the earphone to the Note all the time. When I am not listening to music, I put the earphone in the bag as well.

Yesterday, somebody called me over 10 times and I missed the calls because I was not aware of the calls. I think if I plug in the earphone into the Note, the sound goes to the earphone only. If I plug and unplug the earphone from the Note several times a day, then there will be loose connections. Do you have any advice? Is there a way to direct the notification sound to both the earphone and the speaker?

Are you sure your phone's not in silent mode or something? I just tried this out with mine and I can hear it ringing through the headphones as well as from the device, itself.

Thanks for testing. I don't know if it was in silent mode or something.

Are you saying that if somebody calls me, the ringing should come out from both the earphone and the speaker (unless I am in silent mode)? As you know, when we connect the earphone to the Note, the music only comes out from the earphone. If so, I just have to make sure that I turn the speaker to max volume before putting it in my laptop bag.

When I have the earphones plugged in with the phone in 'normal' mode then:

-music plays through the earphones but *not* the handset
-when I call my phone from a land line the ringtone plays from the earphones *and* the handset

When I have the earphones plugged in with the phone in 'silent' mode then:

-music plays through the earphones but *not* the handset
-when I call my phone from a land line there is a 'beep' through the earphones but the handset only vibrates

The only thing that I can suggest is that if the media player is not playing (which I assume was the case if you had the headphones in your bag) pressing the volume buttons will adjust the ring volume. Could it be that the ringing was just too quiet for you to hear?

Could you please let me know what that is? Never heard of activating a profile for the headphones...

Somebody called me today. I noticed that even at max volume, the speaker sound was not very loud. Is that due to hardware or software? Is there a way to increase the sound level further?

The phone by it self isnt a very loud unit. Its isnt a concern if you know how to create your own ring tones.

Am not sure about the ROM you are on but CM9 which i use has profiles which can be set like regular phones. hence the question.

I am using the stock GB.
