Awesome, I always like to know that someone in the know is making the same decision I am. :-D thanks

Correct me if I'm wrong NKT, but I am guessing that you may not be "locked" into a two year commitment on your "Incredible" decision. The rest of us may be. When you say you are planning to get the Incredible when released, are you planning on keeping it 1-2 years?

Thanks!

When I first started following this thread over a month ago if you woke up in the morning or came back after a few hour break and there were 3 or more new pages it was because of something big. Now...I go to bed and expect about 10 by morning...which usually has no new information...I hope this is the pinnacle of posts per minute :)

Yes, I will be keeping it for a while. Hence my wait for the device. I could have already gotten a Moto but have been drooling over the Incredible since I heard about it. Once I saw it, I was sold.

well depends on whats announced today, they will get my money. if N1 comes today and INC is still a ways off then i will get N1. but if INC is announced and only a couple of weeks off then i think i will wait for the INC. either way i get a kicka$$ phone.

I would be tempted to get the N1 and return it when the Incredible comes out.

If the touch issues on the N1 don't exist on the Incredible, then I'm handsdown waiting on the Incredible.

Also - many thanks to NKT for sharing his knowledge of upcoming changes.

Three announcements by VZW so far today.

1. LG Cosmos
2. Launch of Field Force Manager
3. Enterprise Messaging announced

Hopefully one more BIG INCREDIBLE announcement is left! :D

I'm so damn excited for today!!! I just want to see some video of it in action and I think that will suffice me till release day!

i know, i just want to see the finished product, with final specs. even if its still 2-3 weeks out before its released, just give us the a preview of the finished product. we all have seen the N1 and its a sexy a$$ phone, i was sold on the N1 but then i saw the specs for the INC and now im thinking this thing is a monster. either way both are excellent choices.

Kyocera just launched a $200 phone with no contract and has a 3.5" 800x480 screen. Shows how much the hires screens have fallen in price. I think this will be the new norm for phone resolution.

I believe this was confirmed, try checking the first post. I've been on the fence about an N1 and Inc for a while now and that lack of the multi touch issue and the ROM/RAM specs put my very close to the Inc. The only thing keeping me from being head over heels in love with this phone is the slowness HTC and VZW has shown in pushing out the 2.1 update for my Eris. I know the N1 get software fixes as soon as they are ready, but HTC forces you to wait while they update Sense and plug root holes.... decisions, decisions....

With the number of people getting this phone it would be rooted in short order. I'd say the first xda/custom ROM would be out in under a month.

Any news on pricing for the Incredible? Do folks assume $199 or could it be less? If ETF still $350. Any possibility the ETF will drop. Does Verizon typically also release prices for 1yr commitment or no commitment?

Yesterday's news was the HTC Desire released on T-Mobile in the UK for FREE when signing up for a 2yr commitment and a 35 pound/mo plan, roughly $52/mo for 1200 minutes, 200 text and unlimited data. Why are plans so expensive here?

Is HTC really that slow? I haven't seen an update come out for the Moto Droid yet either. Maybe that is Verizon's doing.

Besides, this is Verizon's first go round with the Android operating system so it doesn't surprise me that there are delays.

That's ridiculously cheap.

I don't know the stats but my guess is T-Mobile UK, like T-Mobile here, has to charge less or they would have 0 customers (or maybe 1, Catherine Zeta Jones). Isn't their plan here in the states 60/mo ?
