Root HELP home button not working

My home button is not working anymore has anyone had this problem before? Iam running Rom - cm 7.1.0 with kernel - tiamat V3.3.7 any help. let me know if you need more info about my phone

First off I would boot to recovery and wipe the dalvik cache and the cache partition, then reboot. It'll take a little while to boot, so be patient. Let us know if that fixes it.

Only one way to find out...... flash a different ROM. I'd suggest a STOCK one.

If flashing a ROM doesnt change it(make sure you are wiping everything except for SD card), its gonna be a hardware issue.

I would return the phone to stock, just to have a clean slate to troubleshoot. Stock rom can be found here:
ss_stock_4.67.651.zip

Boot into recovery and make a nandroid backup
Wipe everything except the SD card, wipe a couple of times to be sure.
Select flash from sd, select the rom

Let us know if it works.

Not sure if it's related, but my home button/search and lock screen would constantly go out on me. I'd pull battery and restart and it would be ok for maybe half a day. After some searching found this post here http://androidforums.com/mytouch-3g...ot-sleeping-locking-properly.html#post3878060 and it actually worked. No idea how adding a google account and removing it would help but it did.

Well, if different roms did not take care of home button not working, then I would say a hardware issue it the culprit

worked until I rooted it though! I'm going to try and restore to stock ROM I just really didn't want to have to loose all this data I had
