Help More noticeable notifications?

I've recently purchased an HTC one s after running a nokia n8 for the last few ouple of years and I'm mostly very happy with it.

The one thing I'm not too keen on though is the way it notifies me of missed calls texts etc. A tiny green led behind the speaker that is often obscured by the grille isn't really enough, but and as I work in sound don't often hear it, or have it on silent.

One thing that was good about my n8 was that it had an amoled display that would always show basic info like the time and new texts even when on standby. I I guess the one s can't do this, but is there some way to bold up the notifications such as turning the screen on when you get such notices or having a big thing on the home screen with a summary of new stuff?

What you could try is a free app called NoLED, which puts a notification icon on your screen

NoLED

Never tried it but it might be worth a look. I think it was developed for a Samsung phone that didn't have an LED

The other thing you could try would be to change your lock screen to the "Productivity" one. This screen shows all your recent notification on the lock screen, text, calls, etc.

To change the lock screen, go into Settings, Personalize, Lock screen style and choose Productivity. There is a settings option where you can choose which settings you want it to show

Not much else I can think of at the moment to help you

settings>personalize>lock screen style>productivity

It shows you all of your notifications. messages. emails. missed calls, and even calendar events, all on your lock screen. you can even drag them to the ring to go directly to those notifications

Thanks - I already have the productivity lock screen set on - what I'm looking for is something that means I can tell what notifications I have without having to turn the screen back on every time I want to check.

NoLED *appears* to be the solution I require and appears to do what my N8 used to do - turns off *most* of the screen but leaves on little notification icons. However I'm having some trouble with it. The instructions state turn the screen off to turn it on, however that doesn't work on my phone and it just turns the screen totally off. If I set my screen to never turn itself off I have seen it come on, but I appear to have no control over when it switches over and my battery is draining fast as the screen is on showing the main menu with all it's fancy visuals for long stretches rather than switching to NoLED.

I can't help you with NoLED, because as I said I have not tried to use it, I just thought that it could be a solution for your problem.

Without stating the obvious, you could either email the dev or put a post on the applications forum to see if someone there has used the app and knows how to sort out your issue

Other than that I can't really help you with it
