if you upgrade from 1.5 does it wipe everything like the leak and root versions of 2.1? And thanks again for posting this. Dont know if I am going to go to this yet but it is making it hard not to

how do i put this into the "ROOT" of my sd card??
 
So to the people that downloaded and flashed their phones, is it legit and is it working better than the previous released versions? Is it worth it to reflash?

Connect phone to computer, mount to disk drive, then click and drag the file into the root (aka the main part of the phone, no sub folders) then do whatever you would after that.
 
just drag and drop the file into the device drive. it would be where you have music, pics, notification sounds. Not in any specific folder on the SD card.
 
just put it on the SD card... as soon as you open the window just drop it in... not in any special folder, just the main portion of your card. like for mine it shows up as

Computer>Removable Disk(F)

And thats where youd drop it! easy peasy!
 
As far as I can tell, it's not MUCH different than the earlier leak of 2.1. It's no big deal to me to erase everything on my phone for this update. But I would wait until we've gotten more into it to see just how much better/worse it is.

APPS get erased. And it seemed to keep the programming data. But I went ahead and did a *228 anyway.
 
Ok so I'm trying to understand. If I'm coming from the stock 1.5 what do i need to do to get this 2.1.
Is it just flashing the rom onto my sd card or do I need to go though the rooting process first?
 
Goodluck! I'm goin for it too... Time to make a quick list of apps to DL when its all said and done!

Astro file manager will backup all your apps for you. When you reflash, just download Astro from the market again, and reinstall all your apps.
